heyy i just wanted to ask, do u have any tips for rendering? or a tutorial idk 🥲 ur art is super gorgeous btw
thank you!! describing my process is a little hard but some advice i have is to redraw and study photos from real life and to not pick boring colors if you want more,,, unique(?) pieces. like if i need shadows for blue ill use shades of purple, green, red, literally any other color than a darker blue. obviously don't do this ALL the time but it helps when you want to draw something eye-catching
also! reference your favorite artists and study how they shade skin, clothes, hair, etc., i promise you'll eventually develop a feel for how certain materials are colored and find your own style
ALSO! my style is kind of a painterly acrylic style so idk how well this would translate to say, cel-shading, but i like to make a layer on top of everything (lineart, colors, whatever) and just paint over any imperfections,, it speeds up the process and helps you develop a better sense of coloring

Hi question from beginner artist- love ur work 🤩 and artstyle but i wonder what kind of references you use ( and how do you use them), maybe you draw from imagination ? also do you think its ok to use someones fanart as reference ( not to copy whole art but for instance copy or change some element of it) ? - I would be grateful if you could answer 🥹
for references, i mainly inspire my stuff from professional manga artists like Kei Urana (Gachiakuta) and Sui Ishida (Tokyo Ghoul) to kind of frankenstein my own work lol. it definitely helps to experiment with different brushes and textures to help find your preferred artstyle, i remember being super obsessed with watercolor in 2024
and I think there's nothing wrong with referencing fanart to make something new out of the concept (as long as you add your own flair to it and don't copy the composition, colors, posing, etc. 1-to-1) .
also do studies!! redraw scenes from your favorite movies, album covers, model shoots, or whatever floats your boat!! :]
