Nogueira, late of Rootstock and the seasonal pop-upFlipside Cafe, is a New Orleans native, and the substantial, powerfully rich, and deceptively complex food he’s slinging from the tiny kitchen in the back of the bar is born out of formative experience—it’s a compelling narrative that was lost in all the preopening hype.

At Longman and Eagle in Logan Square they have top notch cocktails, food (brunch, dinner, desert) and a pretty swanky hotel. The wait gets so long in the summer that they had to create a secret off side bar (OSB) which actually isn't so secret anymore. Definitely worth checking out, plus, they routinely have fun events and specials.
