Had a great time at #SFS17 listening to and sharing ideas and ongoing work on freshwater systems. Such a great meeting, hope to make it back again! (at Raleigh Convention Center)
A dead body? Or me snorkeling down the Fort Hall bottoms?
A picture of my #CalibrationWednesday on #InternationalWomensDay! So proud to be a woman in STEM trying to make a difference for our world. Keep it up ladies!
I'm going to try to keep this updated with some of the cool things I'm doing with my Masters Research at ISU. Here is a picture of my furthest upstream site on Marsh Creek where I am studying stream metabolism!
Getting Ready
6.7.16
With only 1 month before I get ready to make my big move I have decided that blogging my adventures might be a good way to reflect upon these next two years. I don’t really know what is in store in the next few years, but I know it is going to be like nothing I ever imagined. I am actually so excited for the unknown, which is something I usually dread.
I have pretty much done nothing packing wise yet, as all of my stuff from UD is still in my parents basement at the moment (sorry, mom and dad!). I am not really sure how I am supposed to fit all of my stuff in the 2009 Ford Focus I am driving from CLE to Pocatello, but that is a problem for month-from-now Sarah. Today, though I bought a pair of hiking boots which will get broken in during my trip to the smokies this weekend, so I guess that is an accomplishment.
Carolyn (my roommate) and I have found a house though so yay to not being homeless (And, no, it is not on a Potato farm...). We are both working for the same graduate advisor, so this will either be perfect or just terrible. But she seems like a perfectly sane person, so I think I am in the clear.
I still don’t think I am ready to accept that I am not going back to UD in the fall with all of my friends, or that I am moving 26+ hours away from Adam and my family. I have a terrible feeling I will be super homesick for a while, but I am just hoping to find friends and activities to keep myself busy. There are a lot of things that make me nervous about leaving my life here behind, but I am just trying to convince myself that Idaho is where I am supposed to be for a while.
Follow my adventures as I try to make Idaho my Idahome!
