uh all the makorra on my dash is practically killing me, so I just had to sketch them even if I can’t draw mako at all or fluff stuff to save my life lately, so all you get is a buff Korra leading the game, as per usual
Ok I haven’t been really online on this tumblr since book finale but I have been on my personal and I have witnessed how hostile the environment feels, so I realized that taking some time off, it would do me good.
I am a Mako blog, I started this blog as an outlet to brush up on my writing skills and to be honest it has been very beneficial, my writing has changed so much from when I started, so I have that and I’m happy for the things I’ve learned. That said, I didn’t think Mako would turn out to be my favorite male character in the entire Avatar franchise. I didn’t think I would find common grounds to relate with him because my first thought was ‘I’m nothing like him’. Jesus was I blindsided. I wasn’t really an awful person but I did take many questionable decisions during my late teens and early twenties, I am a better person today because of it. I started to love him little by little and at the same time myself a little more so cheers to this fictional character, I love him so much for the things he made me realize and I always will.
Another thing I’d like to mention is that, I accept the ending of Legend of Korra, like Jesus Christ, Godspeed. I hope it serves as a bigger open door in the animation industry; otherwise there isn’t much I can take from it.
I never mentioned this in this blog because I never felt the need to defend my sexuality, every person that I have interacted with in here has never given me a reason to stand up for it. I myself am a bisexual girl in my early twenties and in my lifetime I’ve felt romantic love three times. First time it ended up badly, the second time I messed it up and the last time was never reciprocated understandably so, as I was bisexual and she was straight. All those relationships mattered to me in an equal footing, I learned many things from each experience and for that I am also grateful.
Anyways I don’t want this get overly long and wordy, I just want to say that yeah, I’ll be taking some time off to clear my head, not sure when I’ll come back, hopefully soon next year but as for now I want to stay away. I’m not gonna lie, the epilogue of this series was not satisfactory, not for me, if it was for you then more power to you. I just don’t find that most characters I cared about were met with justice. No, before anyone assumes anything, I’m not saying that Mako deserved Korra in the end, I just would have liked some closure for the team rather than what we got. Maybe one day (hopefully sometime soon and in the mainstream, not in some European art house film) same sex characters are met with the same depth that heterosexual couples are given, where they can kiss on screen and hug and openly show some affection. One day I’ll have something other than a token to make me feel better for loving girls too.
Nothing changes; The Legend of Korra is my favorite series so far. Korra is my Forever Girl do I love her more than any other fictional girl and the ending didn’t made me love it any less but I need some time to heal.
I want to put my threads on hold if it's okay with the people I roleplay with, if anyone wants to drop them then that's okay too, I understand.
