i've obviously been applying for jobs pretty intensely lately, especially since my office spontaneously closed, and on monday i received an email from a recruiter wanting to meet with me. this was seemingly good news, only she shared a name (first AND last) with a friend i had to cut off last year because she was acting insane.

honestly, i should have taken it as the warning it was, because this woman was a mess in the interview i had with her. it was such a terrible meeting, that afterward i just laid in my bed for like an hour staring out the window and wondering if there was literally any other option for me beyond going to another interview.

when my dog was still alive, he often slept in this big kennel that kind of became a safe place for him. like if he was scared or extra tired, he would always go in his kennel. he died in february and right after his death, i immediately got rid of kennel. i threw it away. i couldn’t even donate it because i couldn’t imagine another dog using it. i kept a lot of his stuff but the kennel HAD to go.

my father is visiting me this week and i was explaining this to him and he said, “it’s interesting the reverence you had for a place that belonged purely to him. no one could keep it, not even you.” and any way please don’t speak to me for the next four business days, i’ll be busy crying.
