Melody rose an eyebrow at Tobi from her spot on the couch. She had wandered into the room looking for her brother and found Tobi instead. She smiled slightly and placed a hand on his shoulder. “It’s okay Tobes. Atleast they made it to the super bowl this year.”

feeling her hand, the prince took a breath. “you’re right, you’re right --- always next year, right ?” with that, he switched the channel to the puppy bowl. “see, there’s a team i can get behind.”

Lilith laughed as she saw the team that one, though it was more of a sarcastic laugh. “Of course the Patriots won. They probably cheated.” She said, eating another chip.

“i’m telling you, brady must’ve pulled another deflate-gate, because this shouldn’t be happening.” he looked over. “can i have a chip ?”

Chase had been watching the game, though not as seriously as the other had and a smirk grew on his lips. “Hey, don;t get mad just cause the Falcons chokes in the second half.” He smirked

“they didn’t choke, it ain’t their fault satan decided to help out his favorite team --- patriots are overrated,” he grumbled, fully realizing that the game wasn’t that important. “i don’t even watch football --- are you a big fan ?”

veronika looked up from her laptop; she wasn’t doing anything that she could be distracted from by tobias’ screaming but his presence there was still bothering her somewhat. “– can’t you just watch that in your own place or something…?”

hearing the voice, he turned around. “am i bothering you ?” tobias asked, truly concerned about it. “and not yet actually, i’m not quite situated --- figured i’d just watch some american football, see what the fuss was about, but ...” he gestured to the screen with a sigh. “you can see how that went.”

Melissa could only smirk slightly. “Well I wouldn’t know. I don’t really watch football.” she replied as she took a seat beside him. “I heard Gaga killed it at the halftime show, though.” 

“she did, okay, she slayed.” the prince said enthusiastically, allowing himself to move away from the other topic for now. “like born this way and just dance ? i was scalped, gave her my weave,” he joked ( his hair clean shaven as always ). “but she did telephone without beyonce, can you believe ? guess she didn’t want to be another coldplay,” he chuckled.

“rigged is the only possible explanation. there’s no way this… this monstrosity could happen if it wasn’t,” he said with a sigh. “we should complain. get a petition. take it to the super bowl high lords.”

“see, now we’re talking --- did you see the team owners though ? they got so sad, my god; the ball was hardly on the line too ! you know what, let’s just say the atlanta falcons won; hit ‘em with those alternative facts.”

“same dude, just same,” the prince exclaimed, brushing some confetti of his head as well. “it was, it was ... it was rigged, i’m telling you --- i don’t know what russian voodoo was pulled this time, but i am not having it, oh no i am not ...”

landon squinted at the tv as he walked in the room, then he glanced at the boy. “ahh right. the super bowl,” he nodded to himself. “i take it your team lost, yeah? personally i’m a bigger fan of the superb owl jokes.”

“the only team worth rooting for, but yeah, they did,” tobias frowned. “the puppy bowl’s good too --- i don’t even like football, but this game got me so pressed like you wouldn’t believe ...”

Melissa glanced over at the tv with a raised brow. She had never gotten into football much or any type of sport for that matter. “Aww did your team lose?” she asked in a teasing tone. “Well don’t worry there’s always next year.” she added with a wink.

“yeah, to fucking nasty tom brady and his nasty ass ---” frowning, tobi switched the tv off, flopping back onto the couch. “see, you’re right, you’re right, but atlanta was waiting for eighteen years. and did the patriots need another win ? no. but god has forsaken us all on this horrible night of all nights ...”

staring at the screen in the common room, arms crossed, tobias looked stonefaced as the confetti came down --- he wasn’t having any of this. “you all had one job,” he said, glancing at the falcons walking off the field. “one fucking job ---”

“SIMON, SIMON, WAIT,” tobi said, bringing a hand up in front of his friend as he surveyed the area before looking back to him worriedly. “do you know where we are??” ( @simonthegator )

He tried to calm himself down as much as possible, although it was far from easy at the moment. “Alright.” he said after taking an inhale. He had to admit that his friend had a point. Simon paused a moment, “Hey the woods aren’t that bad.” he protested. His attention was quickly drawn to where Tobi had pointed, brightening up a bit at the discovery.  “hey.. you’re right. I guess we can’t be too far off then.” he pointed out. 

NODDING ALONG, TOBIAS perked up when simon did; the mood having lifted at the sight. “come on, man,” tobi said as he walked towards the bus stop, making sure to stay next to simon. once he reached within ten feet of the post tobias jogged ahead, reaching for a schedule and tearing it open. “it comes in ten minutes ... i think?? i honestly can’t read in the dark like this --- shine your phone light, will ya??”

She snorted and giggled at his dramatics as she entered the house. “I’ve been in town for a few weeks now.” She giggled again. “I’m surprised Nate didn’t tell you, but I’m not that surprised that the others didn’t mention me. Ev my ex-fiancée and Otto my current fiancée.” She rolled her eyes a bit at the remembrance of that and at the irony. The majority of the people in her love life live in the same damn house.

“IN NATE’S DEFENSE, i’ve been ridiculously m.i.a. as of late,” he said with a scratch of his head. “i don’t even know what these people are up to,” he said with a dry chuckle. “right, right --- why did that end by the way?? unless you don’t want to say so,” he added quickly, “then it’s okay; just curious.” having focused on the first half, tobi’s mind backtracked as he remembered the rest of what he’d heard, and his eyes widened. “wait, otto’s your fiance?? otto??” he asked. “why??”

“THEY’RE ADORABLE. PEOPLE try and wear the same things they had on in the old photo, take the ‘new’ photo in the same place. so it’s comparing how they were…maybe a decade ago, to how they are now. it’s cute and i think it’s a testament to how we’re all growing but still remembering where we came from, you know??”

AND THEN EVERYTHING was going perfectly. betty was thrilled to be pulled that much closer to him, not even caring if it was intentional or not; she moved towards him, fitting against him like the right puzzle piece. “i would love a hot dog truck. maybe they have corn dogs, too. and ice-cream, we could ice-cream afterwards!! we just never sit down,” she said dramatically. 

“LIKE A THROWBACK??” he asked, nodding his head as he began to understand. “i think my dad tried something like that when he and mama went back to new orleans for honeymoon ... ten?? they’ve had a lot of honeymoons, it’s ridiculous,” he chuckled. “but no, no, i think i get it --- they got in their old wedding clothes, went to the bayou,  mama odie took the photo, i think she was crying in that one photo she took wrong ...” tobias pulled out his phone with his free hand, scrolling through before he found the photo, then showing it to betty. “and the old one’s here---” scrolling through the folder, he showed the original to betty too.

"HOT DOGS AND corn dogs and ice cream --- all the fixings,” tobi said with the same dramatic air; perhaps it was the newfound proximity, perhaps it was the thought of food, perhaps it was tobi figuring it was the former, but the mood was a jovial one indeed. “what are your favorite toppings?? like for hotdogs, it’s ketchup all the way, and for ice cream,” he added with a hint of juvenile glee in his eyes, “caramel, a little bit of salt, whipped cream --- oh my god.”

“what’s g-going to h-happened to me? it’s n-not like someone’s g-going to assassinate m-me.” he teased.

“okay t-that wasn’t a good j-joke but really you s-shouldn’t worry so much.” he assured Tobi. “you’re t-too nice, you’re gonna t-turn into Nate if you don’t w-watch yourself.” he teased. “i was g-going to meet W-William.” he told him.

“WE’RE FRIENDS, EV --- i’m allowed to worry about you,” he said in all seriousness, but he let the matter drop. tobias pouted. “i’d make a great nate, but you have a point; what would you guys do without a tobi??” he joked. tobias nodded at that. “i get it, i get it --- gonna go see your boo??” he asked, a hint of a tease in his eyes as he put his feet up onto the coffee table ( he was sitting on the couch ). “how’s that going by the way?? also, he owes us about ...” tobias did the mental math in his head. “... one fifty?? in alcohol, i’d say?? --- yeah, that sounds about right.”
