   Leader finds themself more than a touch bewildered when offered outright to have a new item MADE for them–all because of a bit of coffee, at that. Ike wants to refuse, to shake their hands and calm the other’s worry, perhaps, that would be the very way to do such. Though expression hidden, uncertainty dawns, and a glance is cast over shoulder to the Koffing who still lingered; the crater seeming less than aware with anything transpiring before it. 

   “Well…suppose it can’t ‘urt. I got plenty ‘o time before I gotta show up f’er the next challenger.”

   Shoulder lifted, filtered air exhaled, and gloved hand reaches up to remove the western-style hat adorned. Tufts of brunet hair poke out from beneath the clasps of mask, and with a dip forward, cap is brought to chest to accompany their motion of a bow. 

   “I’d be mighty grateful, ‘n I can’t ‘elp but be a little curious ‘ta see how fast ya work. Ain’t ever been on a fancy movie set ‘fore.”

❛ I’d love to show you around set once I’m done! A shawl takes no time at all, isn’t that right Viola? ❜ Designer chirps, looking down at his Meowstic. ❛ Mii! ❜ she squeaks back. 

Other pokemon have returned to their pokeballs, Souya leading the gym leader to his workstation onset. everything was outdoors, save for the trailers dedicated to both human and pokemon actors, but the staff all had tents to shield themselves from the sun. Souya’s work area consisted of his sewing machine area, a few body models of different sizes, head models with hats he premade for the scenes in the next coming days and measurement tapes, and a shelf unit with rolls of all sorts of fabrics and decorations. ❛ You stayed out because you want to help too don’t you Viola? ❜ he asks, setting her down next his sewing machine. Viola squeaks in delight. 

❛ Mr.Parish, feel free to choose a fabric that’s to your liking on that shelf there, there’s lots to choose from! I-I’ll get measurement things ready in the meantime. ❜

“ I think you may have lost something. ”  It was the first thing she’d said to him, and partially just in passing. Maybe she was just making an assumption. But still, a finger pointed in the direction of a certain translucent Pokemon; nearly vanishing between a set of old trees. No stranger to wandering Pokemon, she guessed she couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for it. If it had been any other point in her life, she would’ve just continued on – given her position though, she’d ask a question a past self would have regretted.  “ Do you need help? ”

Souya panics, Blaise up to his usual antics, though this time forcefully asking his trainer to play hide and seek in a forest both were unfamiliar with. ❛ Blaise! come back! ❜ he shouts, watching helplessly as his old friend disappears into the trees. Suddenly a voice catches the hex maniac’s attention. 

❛ Y-you would?--!! ❜ He’s stunned. It’s an Elite Four member! ❛ I-I-I-I mean, it would help greatly, I’ve never been in this forest before and it seems my friend wouldn’t come home until I play hide and seek with him..... b-b-b-but you really needn’t trouble yourself! ❜ he stammers out, contradicting himself, waving his hands in panic.

an exhale ─ warm breath is visible against the chilled air, a small shiver racing up her spine as the winter temperatures sucks any warmth her body had. she would complain about the unexpected snowfall, except she should know better by now ─ bad weather isn’t exactly a rarity in norite, being so close to the mountains. but that doesn’t make her situation any better! petite arms instinctively wrap around her frame in an attempt to preserve warmth to little success. oh, well ─ she’ll simply have to tough it out until indoors.

… except she doesn’t have to.

amber hues glance up as a larger, thicker jacket covers her shoulders. quickly, lillian shoves her arms through, zipping up and pulling the collar up around her neck. a bright smile spreads across her expression as she already feels warmer, attention now towards souya. 

❝ that’s much better already, thank you, souya! ❞ the jacket even doubles as gloves, considering the sleeves cover her hands, ❝ i guess i rushed a bit too much this morning, ahah … ❞ she admits sheepishly ─ not something that’s never happened before, and certainly not something that won’t happen again. but her smile quickly turns into surprise as she realizes that souya is now with one less jacket !! he’s still better off than she was, but …

❝ l - let’s still hurry, though !! i don’t want you to get cold because of me! c’mon, let’s go! ❞ and she’s off, pace quickened as she gestures for him to follow. the library isn’t that far off, now! she makes a mental note to get him a hot chocolate later, as thanks!

   Ike was no actor nor one to have their face displayed upon screens, but still did they wonder from afar when camera crews gathered at the port. Time between battles at the gym were used to breathe in the sea-salted air, but with an unusual amount of individuals gathered around, that re-breathable mask is kept secure over features scarred. 

   In leader’s own wake a Koffing lingers, puffs of gas seeping from its pours to keep it afloat, and the meteor chimes its pleasure in being out and about. Ike in turn peers over shoulder at the Pokemon, leaving them unaware of the pounding footsteps that came forth, and by the time that excited voice pipes in their ears it was too late to escape the bitter splash of brew. A noise of startle catches in Ike’s throat, the crimson cape folded about their form taking in the brunt of the heat, luckily, leaving the leader unscathed of burns.

   –But surprised still are they, shoulders stiffened back, and eyes widened in a bewildered stare to the one who spouts their apology. A handful of moments they can’t find their voice, but once doing so, their own hands raise and shake back and forth in dismissal. 

   “No, no, don’ worry ‘bout it! Y’er alright, it was jus’ an accident–jus’ got on my shawl is all. Ain’t no harm done.”

   Lips quiver in a smile of amusement beneath mask, and with a hand clutched to crimson fabric, their head tips down to get a look at the staining damage.

   “If’n ya want I can get ya a new cup ‘o coffee–”

❛ I would be happy, b-but, I would feel bad if you had to walk around dirty. You have battles coming up, don’t you? ❜ Souya frowns. Viola watches intently from his arms, also giving the gym leader a worried look. 

Really, he had expected gym leaders to be the intimidating sort of tyype, but speaking to one, they were actually quite kind. Well, he supposes for opponents, they would have to be intimidating, or the challenger would lose the motivation to battle. The world of Pokemon Gym Challenges sure was interesting, but he liked his woorld of Pokemon Contests. 

Suddenly, he gets an idea. ❛ Perhaps my work station over on the set? I could make you a new shawl quickly! A-at least, something temporary until you’re able to wash yours? ❜ he suggests.

surprises take many different shapes and sizes. being a bit impulsive and disorganized herself, lillian is no stranger to getting caught up in … weird scenarios by chance. this particular situation is definitely a first, though. her ampharos takes note of something strange going on before lillian, able to feel the presence of something else ( quite literally! ) floating about. lillian, however, doesn’t take note of the floating yarn before it wraps around her. the breeder squeaks, trying to spot the source. at her side, ampharos is frantic with worry but unable to do anything in fear of hurting lillian in the process. 

before she can do much of anything, she finds herself in a twirl. she hears the cackle of a pokémon before she spots it. ampharos does, though, growling at the mischievous ghost as a warning. it sure is a good thing neptune isn’t out, otherwise there’d definitely be a fight lillian couldn’t stop! well, maybe. the haunter is gone before anything else can be done. lillian steadies herself by placing a hand on meeps and holding her head with another as she gets her bearings. oh ─ someone’s speaking to her now?

❝ h - huh ? ❞ it takes a few moments for the world to stop spinning and she processes what’s being asked of her. lillian offers an assuring smile as her mind steadies a bit, ❝ me? i’m fine! it’s nothing to fret about! it’s not like i fell, or anything. ❞ she nods, but not too quickly! 

❝ was that your pokémon? i mean, i’m not mad, or anything! i’ve got some trouble makers myself, haha … ❞ she rubs her neck sheepishly, cheeks flushed at the thought.  

He sighs in relief, giving a smile as he helps steady the girl. ❛ I’m glad you’re unhurt, at least. My Blaise is really very sweet, he just enjoys causing mischief when the opportunity presents itself, aha! ❜

Coordinator wasn’t in a particular rush, as Blaise always returned home at some point, but seeing as his friend hadn’t returned by his side upon sight, the pokemon hadn’t had his fill of mischief just yet. ❛  If you’d like, I’ll escort you to the nearest Pokemon Center and- ❜ Golden eyes widen as loose string unravels above the girl, wrapping her arms as well tightly and securely before lifting her right in the air, Blaise revealing himself and blowing raspberries at friend before taking off again. 

❛ You.....YOU ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE, BLAISE! ❜ he shouts, before running after them.

The sun shines down, wingulls cawing overhead as Souya sighs, using the hand holding a half eaten sandwich to shield his eyes, the other holding a cup of coffee as his pokemon chowed on their food. He was on his lunch break in Syenite Port, specifically close to the film set he was working on for the day. Or rather, week as they filmed on location. He had already finished the costumes needed so he played no particularly big role ( truthfully he was thankful for that ) but he was still required to be there, in case of costume mishaps or malfunctions. Well, not that he minded, he loved his job. 

Eyes shift from the darkness of his palm to the bustle of the port, to which they fly open at who’s walking around. Isn’t that Syenite Port’s gym leader, Ike Parish?! Sandwich is nearly thrown on the bench as he scrambles to get an autograph, shuffling through bag for an autograph board and something to write with using one hand, still holding his coffee and his pokemon tag along, having finished their food. Though he was not a battle trainer, he was still starstruck whenever he saw a gym leader. 

❛ E-Excuse me, Mr.Parish! May I have your autog- ❜ Viola’s tail trips him up a bit and coffee flies from cup just as he hands board. ❛ Ah! ❜ Breath catches in throat, his first instinct to pick up his Meowstic in worry and check on her tail, the second to realize he’s spilled coffee on the gym leader.

Whenever Souya made new outfits for his pokemon, it was customary for him to take glamour shots of them; both with a DSLR camera and with his phone. At the moment, it was Lyric’s turn, the Galarian Ponyta adorned in a small top hat with a a lavender rose and taffeta decoration, a suit top with ruffled sleeves and a lavender kravat and golden rose pin, posing for his phone shots. After a couple, a Mimikyu showed up next to Lyric in the shot, Souya pressing down so hard on the photo button in awe it took a burst.

Though his Lyric seemed a bit upset being interrupted, letting out a displeased snort, he sniffs at the Mimikyu curiously as Souya approaches, putting a hand on mane to soothe his pokemon while kneeling in front of the one that approached. ❛ Are you lost, little one? Have you accidentally wandered from your trainer? ❜ He asks, offering a couple pokeblocks as a comforting treat; turning to give a few to his as well. He knew it was in bad taste to assume a pokemon was wild so he wasn’t intending to catch it, but he couldn’t hide his excitement at seeing a Mimikyu for the first time!

❛ Blaise! Blaaaise! ❜

Man shouts for pokemon, looking frantically through the streets. Though he had only been running for twenty minutes, he’s already out of breath. Really, it shouldn’t be this difficult to find a floating ball of yarn! Regardless, he continues on chase.

Meanwhile, the rambunctious Haunter finds a target, a young woman and stealthily floats close, unraveling the ball and wrapping yarn loosely around midsection before tightening it. The ghastly pokemon then starts pulling it, making it spin! As the girl twirls, the Haunter makes itself visible, cackling uncontrollably at the sight. 

❛ B-Blaise! That’s dangerous! Stop at once! ❜

The pokemon takes notice of old friend once the end of the thread comes, raveling it back up into a perfect ball and disappearing before making his escape. ❛ Are... Are you alright, Miss? ❜ Souya asks, rushing over in concern. Though he still needed to give chase, someone’s well-being held more importance. After all, a floating yarn ball shouldn’t be too hard to find.
