This smile to me was something huge! To see mickey come out to his dad and the entire neighborhood was incredible. Everything from,"Ian what you and I have makes me free" to I'm fucking gay" made me fall in love with the character and gallavich ten times more than I already was. But to catch the boys in this sweet moment after the fight and mickey coming out was so magical. The boys are bloodied,bruised, beaten and then mickey smiles. A full on face smile. Genuine happiness. MICKEY IS FREE. COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY FREE. Best scene in the series

Can we discuss the fact that Mickey Milkovich seduced a female prison worker to escape from prison? And that he looks pretty ashamed about it? Like maybe he made a real connection with this person — which is a pretty fucking difficult and rare thing for him — and feels shitty that he fucked her over? 

That would have been interesting to watch. Shameless always tells the wrong parts of the story.

first of all, i love gallavich don’t get me fukin wrong

but ian not only left him once, but twice - every single time after they have a soft conversation, the first time after mickey told ian he loved him, the second after mickey admitted ‘us’ is what made him kept going in prison and

Ok, I slept on the how I felt about Mickey’s send off. 

I am very Mickey>Gallavich (though I hesitate still to use this word) since season 5. This end for Mickey was much preferable to that horrible jail situation. Physically, as long as Mickey stays away from Mexican drug cartels and the like he has, theoretically, a chance at a new beginning. 

Shameless STILL rolled back Mickey’s character to a point where him not immediately going into a life of Mexican crime is very hard to believe, but I am going to force myself to think otherwise. Maybe Ian’s money helps him start off okay. 

A lot of Mickey’s actions this past episode still felt like his whole s5 arc did not happen. The Mickey we knew in S5 would not have given Ian random drugs. He would have been a lot more mindful of Ian’s safety in general. 

OBVIOUSLY I wish they had talked more, I wish Ian would have apologized way more to Mickey. I wish Ian had the “you there for me more than my family” line because Mickey saying that made NO SENSE. 

I wholly believe the most realistic ending for Mickey (given the ridiculous situation the show put him in) would have been him breaking things off with Ian at the boarder. He would have seen that this Ian was healthy and living a better life, and that dragging him to Mexico would be bad for him. Ian would have said he loved Mickey, Mickey would have said it in return and then said something along the lines of “that’s why I’m going alone” and then kicked him right out of the car. 

THAT would have been heartbreaking but it would have been on Mickey’s terms. We would be reinforcing how Mickey’s character was always putting Ian first, we would not have a rehash of Ian breaking Mickey’s heart at the end of S5, and maybe Ian would  FINALLY realize how much Mickey has sacrificed for him. Mickey could have left with his head held high, but instead his last scene had him crying and pleading again when Ian broke things off.

So, I am glad he has a chance to start new, but I am not thrilled with how he got to that point.

I think he will be back.......for an episode here or there or if the ratings take a drop again. I would be completely fine with him leaving the way he did if they didn't bring him back and give us such false hope. The show creators use things such as Facebook and social media to pump up all the gallavich shippers and then they send him away again in a dress acting like he doesn't give a fuck about anyone but Ian. I am not okay with that but I do hope they have Mickey return and I am happy he didn’t die like I was afraid of. I read an interview Noel did and it sounds like if given the chance, he would come back so we can always hope for that. So to answer your question, yes i think he will eventually make an appearance here or there, but nothing regular or steady unfortunately.

I can’t stop thinking about Mickey being all alone now in Mexico. He imagined him and Ian starting a life there and he said it was the only thing that got him through prison. Then Ian getting in that car and left with him, making him believe that that was all going to happen until the last minuet when it was all taken away. Mickey Milkovich didn’t get his happy ending. He got a lifetime of being on the run completely alone.

Scrolling the Noel Fisher tag and the shameless tag and the gallavich tag also facebook groups I belong tooand I see all these people telling me I shouldn’t be upset over the way the writers have treated Mickey. The fact is I’m not upset-I’m devastated. He deserves better! I deserve to be pissed and hurt as fuck!

I loved the series finale of Shameless last week. Gallavich ran off into the sunset and they're in Mexico happy and free.
