𖤐 an introduction to my fire emblem 4+5 selfship 𖤐
this is my self insert in question, kiuujay, a knight of leonster that is besties with finn. she would join in the prologue of fe4 alongside the leonster group as an axe knight class.
i ship her with lewyn, so they don't meet until his introduction in chapter 2 of fe4. whilst performing in various taverns throughout agrustria, kiuujay meets lewyn before they are introduced to one another via sigurd's army on the battlefield. taking him for an ordinary bard, they spend the night with one another at said tavern. falling for his flirtatious nature, jay is determined to keep seeing him afterwards, and lucky for her sigurd's army was her way to do just that.
throughout the events of chapters 2-3, they continue to date despite jay becoming more serious about their relationship than lewyn. it's very much the hypercrazed girl and nonchalant guy trope. they gave a lot of banter back and forth as a love language, jay often jokingly criticizing his carelessness about the war. the only time she genuinely crashed out with him was when he revealed he was really the prince of silesse after they had been together for about a year on the judgral timeline - a reasonable crashout i may add. but she got over it as soon as she realized that either way, if they ever got married she would be rich and a princess. upon fleeing to silesse with team sigurd, she learned to appreciate his kingdom in her short time there.
however at the start of chapter 4, when quan decides to return to leonster to prepare reinforcements for sigurd's battles, kiuujay had no choice but to leave silesse and lewyn in order to serve her country. she makes lewyn promise her that he won't forget about her, and will be waiting for her to reunite with them. well, real fans know what happened after that.
kiuujay stays with finn instead of joining quan and ethyln in the desert, preventing her from becoming on of the massacred leonster soldiers in the desert. when the early thracian empire ambushes leonster and burn down the castle, she flees with finn and baby leif. meanwhile, lewyn is killed in the battle of bellhalla and ressurrected by the wind god forsetti, causing a change in his feelings towards jay along with the newfound coldness instilled in his personality from the ressurrection. (it's not confirmed if this is because of forsetti "possessing" his body or not, but i like to thing lewyn was still in there with just some of forsetti's coldness and withdrawal of emotions.) this ends up with lewyn marrying erinys, his canon wife and mother of his children (in thracia at least, but it makes sense for fe4 as well).
now back to kiuujay's part leading up to the events of thracia 776: she accompanied finn and leif as stated before, so she also experienced the temporary homelessness and starvation as finn did. as the years went on, she too become depressed and turned to alcoholism to cope. though she was considerate enough to never waste what little money they had on anything but food for leif, so she relied on her charm and drunk men at the tavern for a little treat. her bond with finn greatly deepened as a result of their shared trauma, and he disapproved of how she would sometimes willingly exploit herself just to get food for the three of them.
finally when they arrive in fiana and are somewhat stable when leif is a teenager, kiuujay starts to make a recovery from the traumatic past 10 or so years. she had lost a lot of weight since she and finn starved for 10 years to the point where she had medicial issues from it. luckily she was fit enough by the time chapter 1 of fe5 starts to fight alongside leif and finn once again. she is also tagging along leif's journey the entire time in thracia.

now we get to chapter 7 of genealogy!! she's with finn and leif again as they have to temporarily leave leonster in order to meet with seliph and fend off the empire's army. lewyn's ass infamously was there to assess the situation, then left for seliph's group before jay could see him. when he returns with seliph, jay confronts him and is rightfully upset for him leaving her for erinys, who he also abandoned. after learning erinys has passed, jay decided to try to date lewyn once again. it's not as whimsical or fun as before, but jay still loved him and lewyn was present enough to reciprocate.
honestly, i've only gotten to chapter 8 of fe4 so i cant explain all the details of the rest of the judgral saga, but she will always accompany leif and finn in battle. and maybe she and lewyn can finally get married like she dreamed of as a young adult. the end!!!!!
