I just want to belong. But when youre like I am belonging isn’t easy. The people you thought cared about you begin to throw you away and treat you as though you never existed. They throw you aside because you’re something that they can’t understand. Truth is they’re not willing to try. All you want to do is move forward with your life, together, but they all move forward without you. So you get left behind in the dark, hurtful hole that you’re in and no one wants to save you. Soon enough this hole becomes your home and any change that threatens this home is scary and unwanted. You cling to the darkness because it’s your only friend now, it’s all that you have. This darkness consumes you, it becomes everything that you are, soon enough you can’t even see yourself through the darkness. You are the darkness. The darkness is who you are, it’s what you’ve become. You begin to wonder if it’ll ever change. If it’ll ever get better. If the darkness will ever go away. The answer seems so out of reach. You want to believe that things will get better but you’re always taunted by the darkness. The darkness doesn’t want you to be free. It doesn’t want you to live without it. It’s a constant fight between you and the darkness. It needs you to survive and you’re beginning to believe that you need it to survive too. After all everyone else has left you but it’s always been there for you, it hasn’t left you. You can’t just throw it away like everyone else threw you away. Can you?

short semi-stream-of-consciousness zine. i like putting my art and textposts/tweets/random journaling stuff together, especially when they end up being unlikely companion pieces. a lot of these are illustrations from the marigold tarot with the accompanying notes/text i haven’t shared alongside the cards yet. i’m planning on bringing printed copies with me to short run in seattle this weekend!
