Today I have gotten eight messages. Four of which were identical despite being from separate accounts and different families and of the remaining half, two of them were nothing but symbols of a Chatbot dying out that I haven’t seen since the porn bots.
The last two were from the same account, who after I shared their pinned post and verified donation following their first message. They then sent another ask, this time guilting me for just sharing without donating even €20 and how horrible I am for that.
As such, I will be deleting any messages asking for money or just links once they come in from people I don’t know. That also includes those who follow me just before they send their asks, cause the bots are not being clever.
I will try to share vetted links and the such, but I can’t keep up with being effectively panhandled repeatedly to a point where my phone overheats and vibrates with the force of a marital aid powered by six D batteries.
Not so casual reminder after someone messaged me (not ask or submission, actual message) and when I reminded of my policy, they simply said ‘Thank you for donation’. Not to mention an account sending 3 asks, all identical but the number in the vetted list changing.
When I do get paid, I will donate to a charity as at this point, I cannot trust any of the vetted links I’m seeing and being sent to me.
