I donāt know WHAT it is about America but when Jhopeās there, his selfie game always sky rockets and kills us all
Hello ! Could you give ur opinion on rap monster's racist comment to v and jhope??
Damn, I was hoping I could evade this whole issue since, well, it touches a pretty sensitive and controversial topic and I really hate getting involved in such drama but ask and you shall receive (Donāt worry Anon, I still love you).Ā
It was wrong of Rap Monster to make such a comment, Iām not going to deny that and be ignorant about it. Whether he meant for it to be a joke or not, whether he hadnāt intended to express it in an offensive way or not, he still shouldnāt have said something like that. Even if J-Hope or V got that he was joking, the media is a hell hole that feeds on moments that put a person in a different light. Such a comment is simply something one shouldnāt say on live television if one wants to have a peaceful life and career. There may be some people who arenāt offended by what he said but there are also people who are and he should have at least considered that before letting it slip his mouth.
BUT. Yes, thereās a butt in this. It was also wrong for people to trash him. Everyone has the right to call out on his mistake, but everyone should do it with respect or at least do it in a well-mannered way. Were you not raised with manners? Sending him death threats doesnāt make you a better person. Bringing him down doesnāt make you a better person. Insulting him in every way possible wonāt make you a better person. Fueling the fire wonāt make you a better person. Youāre calling out his mistake but how do you expect to be taken seriously or to be taken with respect when youāre doing the exact same thing if not worse? Do a reality check first on yourself before trying to polish someone else.
Then there are those who say,Ā āIām ____ and Iām not offended.ā Yes, you may not be offended but there are those who are and you should at least understand that. Different people have different tolerance levels. Different people have different triggers. What do you expect to gain from saying such things? Yes, you can express how it doesnāt offend you but at least say that you understand why some are enraged by it. I mean, what if youāre offended by a certain thing and someone pulls the same kind of statement on you?
Lastly, say it with me now: Everyone is problematic. No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. Every single person on this Earth has said or done at least one stupid thing. Everyone is flawed. Everyone has something to improve on. Idols / Artists / Celebrities arenāt perfect and didnāt enter the world of fame to portray the idea ofĀ āBeing Perfectā. Donāt you dare have the mindset that theyāre banned from screwing up at least once because theyāre humans for heavenās (Whoops, almost swore here) sake. In no way am I defending him because my classmates make such comments every now and then and each time they do, Iād have the urge to slap them with a fish (Donāt ask). But like Iāve said, everyone is problematic in one way or another. Even you.
Dear Anon, none of this was targeted at you but everyone in general okay? Thanks for asking for my opinion, I feel as though some weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. The kind of shit I had to go through today because of this whole issue. I canāt remember the number of times I almost flipped a finger at someone before remembering that Iām fasting. Ignorance, ignorance everywhere.
this was so intense

Warning: Long post ahead, controversial issues discussed.Ā
This will be the last post I make regarding this whole controversy. If you want to argue with me on this issue, donāt, please just stop reading.Ā
Iāve thought long and hard about why I wasnāt personally offended by the lyrics, and why so many other girls are, especially in Korea. Iāve realized that it comes down to the experience of going to the gynecologist. The way I was brought up, my parents taught me to be very comfortable with my own body. Thus, I never felt embarassed going to the gyn because it was just another health checkup for me. Why should we feel embarrassed to have a DOCTOR looking at our vagina?? Itās a vagina for godsakes not a holy shrine. There is something inherently wrong with society if women/men are taught to be ashamed of their own bodies. I am not trying to shame anyone here, just making a point that in order to properly protect ourselves, we need to be extremely comfortable with things such as our vagina.Ā
When I saw the line, I saws it as a comparison, on the same level if he saidĀ āpeel off your clothes like you peel a bananaā. I didnāt like it and I still donāt likeĀ it, not because I think itās misogynistic or whatever other crap you wanna call it, but because I thought it was unnecessary, didnāt fit with the rest of his rap, and was a poor comparison (like how my banana comparison was bad). But at the end of the day, it was ONE WORD. Does there really need to be countless articles and hate comments directed at him? What makes me mad is that he purposely came out to this show to sharpen his skills as a rapper without the idol image (as he personally stated), yet people are still seeing him as an idol. Of course that line would be unacceptable in a Winner song, but in underground? Underground rappers or even mainstream rappers who arenāt idolsĀ say lines 10x worse and no one seems to care??? Take San Eās Body Language for example, some of (if not most of) the lyrics were downright gross and objectifying. But no huge scandal came of that because people expect that shit from him.Ā
I just wanna say if you are expecting fluffy innocent Mino, donāt watch the goddamn show. And donāt throw around words you donāt even understand just because you wanna jump on the hate bandwagon.Ā
Taewoon is a lot more animated than Zico. He keeps smiling.
