hi, i’m milena. i’m 24 years old and i’m from uruguay.

i come from a protestant background, which i left when i was around 18. at the same time, i’ve been practicing witchcraft and studying spirituality since i was 13, so spirituality has always been one of the deepest and most grounded parts of my life.

through study and personal reflection, i eventually came to believe that protestantism is something deeply shaped by man and interpretation. ironically, it was through studying christianity itself that i became convinced catholicism is real.

despite that, reconnecting with christianity has been emotionally complicated because of religious trauma, fear-based teachings around sin and salvation, and the anxiety of “getting it wrong.” still, i feel the call of God very strongly at this point in my life, and i’m trying to approach that call slowly, honestly and with openness.

i’m especially drawn to:

- christian mysticism

- catholic folk practices

- contemplative spirituality

- christian universalism

- saints, prayer and devotion

- tarot and energy work

- the convergence between witchcraft and christian spirituality

this blog is mostly a space for me to learn, explore, research and document this journey while i figure things out along the way.

i’ve seen too much queer joy and queer kindness in my life to ever believe that God does not exist within queer folk and walk in queer spaces.

God is a drag queen. God is a closeted teenager. God is a trans woman. God is a lesbian. God is asexual. God is intersex. God is queer as fuck, don’t forget it.

I don’t know where Evangelicals are getting the “We are so unworthy of Gods love. It’s so hard to love us” narrative but hear me when I say:

Whether you are Christian, Atheist, Pagan, or something else entirely. Whether you read the Bible every night or you curse out God every night. Whether you think you are a good person or not.

God finds it easy to love you. It is never a challenge. He didn’t create you because it’s a chore but because he wanted your soul to leave its lasting mark on the world. A God doesn’t find it difficult to love you because he MADE you easy to love. You are beautifully and wonderfully made.

THAT is scripture. THAT is a God of unending love.

By all means not an expert, but progressive Christian’s saying they won’t get “political” when discussing Christianity or on their religious blog is a little strange and misguided. Homie the Bible IS POLITICAL and radically at that. Feeding the hungry, sheltering the poor, anti-violence, and anti-war is political. Taking care of our planet, Uplifting your community, and loving your neighbor is political. Politics isn’t just discourse on policy, politics stretches and defines every part of our life. By finding the good in humanity you participate in politics, and that’s a good thing I promise.

gnosticism is old, layered, mystical, historical, symbolic, and also very much interpreted differently depending on who you’re reading. some resources are academic, some are spiritual, some are church/community-based, some are modern explanations, and some may have perspectives you personally don’t vibe with.

I’m sharing these as starting points, not stamping every single claim with a golden seal of approval. I can’t personally scour every page, teaching, organization, or interpretation here.

so read widely. compare sources. trust your discernment. watch for red flags. don’t hand your brain over at the door just because something sounds mystical.

Is death more important than life? No, no, no! To die, you must first live. You cannot die if you have not yet lived. Your life is sacred and beautiful.

You must live.

You must also die, and that is important to remember, but you must live before you must die.

Your death depends on your life. How do you want to live? What does living mean to you? What do you want after you die?
