About this blog:

This blog is dedicated to the worship of Mother Mary and Jesus Christ as incarnations of Sophia, as well as the worship of the Holy Trinosophia, and the veneration of other Christian and Gnostic figures

What I believe in:

I believe that Sophia is the creatrix and mistress of the universe. I believe that She is the highest power; there is none above her. I believe that she is one and three

I believe that Mother Mary and Jesus Christ are incarnations of Sophia, but I do not believe they were the only incarnations

I believe in the existence of the Christian Devil and of his desire to bring ruin to humanity. However, I do not believe that the Devil is either Satan and Lucifer. I believe Satan and Lucifer are in fact agents of Sophia and instead equate the Christian Devil with the Gnostic Yaldabaoth

While I do incorporate some Gnostic concepts into my beliefs, I do not consider myself a Gnostic and actively reject certain Gnostic ideas

Likewise, while the Bible is important to my practice, I do not believe that it is the inerrant word of God, nor that it is the only divinely inspired text. Gnostic texts such as The Thunder, Perfect Mind; The Hypostasis of the Archons; and On the Origin of the World; and the Déanic/Filianic holy text The Clear Recital are also spiritually important to me

Saint Lazarus of Bethany

Saint Lazarus was a disciple and dear friend of Jesus and the brother of Martha and Mary. They were residents of Bethany, a village near Jerusalem during the time of Christ's ministry. Lazarus is famously known for being raised from the dead by Jesus after being in the tomb for four days. When Jesus went to Lazarus’s tomb, he said “Lazarus come forth.” and Lazarus emerged from the tomb wearing his burial cloths.

When educating others on worship of specific deities, make sure you are/or can provide resources.

I see way too many posts on here that cannot be back up by historical fact or resources.

And if you are going to tell others what a deity is or isn’t, make sure you’re actually doing research beyond your practice.

These deities we worship? Existed in other lands, practices, and religions, and held many names prior and post to their peaks of veneration. That being said, if that doesn’t concern YOUR practice, and you don’t care? Don’t worry about it. You do you. If you wanted to go deeper, you could. You don’t have time? Ok, that’s cool to.

People get mad at the concept of hell for nonbelievers but they also get mad when I say I think no one goes to hell.

Soooo you think hell is most morally acceptable when YOU make the qualifications for heaven but everyone you deem less than you doesn’t?

How is that more moral than everyone getting into heaven?

In the Ancient Near East and Mediterranean world, the dove became an iconic symbol of the mother goddess... Shrines from the Iron Age Levant depict doves perched atop the doorways of these mini-temples. On one example from Cyprus, the entire exterior of the goddess’s shrine is covered with dovecotes. The doves represented feminine fertility and procreation, and came to be well-recognized symbols of the Canaanite goddess Asherah and her counterpart Astarte, as well as her Phoenician and later Punic embodiment, Tanit. First-century B.C. coins from Ashkelon bore a dove, which represented the goddess Tyche-Astarte... Goddesses such as Venus and Fortunata could be seen depicted in statues with a dove resting in their hand or on their head...

Many ancient Israelites believed the goddess Asherah was the consort of their god... Perhaps it is not so surprising, then, that the heirs of this Israelite religion incorporated the “feminine” symbol of the dove to represent the spirit of God (the word for “spirit,” ruach, is a feminine word in Hebrew). The Babylonian Talmud likens the hovering of God’s spirit in Genesis 1:2 to the hovering of a dove... “Hovering” language is used to describe God’s spirit in the Dead Sea Scrolls as well as the New Testament.

There's also plenty of verses in the Hebrew Bible about God protecting people under her wings.

Anyway I thought this association with female deities was too perfect so I googled "dove ancient near east" and "dove male deity near east" and literally ALL that came up was about female deities.

By all means not an expert, but progressive Christian’s saying they won’t get “political” when discussing Christianity or on their religious blog is a little strange and misguided. Homie the Bible IS POLITICAL and radically at that. Feeding the hungry, sheltering the poor, anti-violence, and anti-war is political. Taking care of our planet, Uplifting your community, and loving your neighbor is political. Politics isn’t just discourse on policy, politics stretches and defines every part of our life. By finding the good in humanity you participate in politics, and that’s a good thing I promise.
