♚ : for a confessing voicemail
“Elijah – hi, I was hoping you would pick up but um… I can work with this. Might be easier. Um… Okay so I just wanted to say that I am incredibly thankful that you’ve come into my life in the past couple months… Um… I’m not doing as well as I said when we first met. I’m… I’m really struggling. I-I hate being on my own, and I’m worried about my kids, a-and – God none of this is making sense I don’t even know why I’m telling you this. Um, Henry is waking up so I’ve got to go but thank you, for being there – Thank you for existing. I um.. Call me back, okay?”
☆ : for a drunken voicemail
“ELIJAH. Eliiiii, Eli, Eli, Eli –” A burst of giggles erupt on the phone. “My mother has the kids for the weekend, oh my GOD what am I doing – everyone says hi by the way, dearest – Dear dear dear, I have not been this intoxicated since school – never ever let me do this again Elijah. Never–”

Vik clapped her hands excitedly, much like a child would— a side effect of the wine, undoubtedly. “Thank you, thank you, you are my favorite. I do not need anymore after this, anyway. I am getting wine’d out.”
“All wine’d out? I hardly thought that possible for you.”
ESTHER ABBOTT: M O O D B O A R D >> GENERAL PERSONALITY
“Half the people in this town are beyond rich.”
“But personally? All this stuff would pay my rent for weeks.”
“-- Are... Are you talking about porn?”
“I may or may not have picked up a slight addiction to coffee…”
“Haven’t we all at this point?”
“I haven’t slept in goodness knows how long, so if I start yelling at stuff that doesn’t exist, shut it down!”
“--That can’t be healthy dear.”
“I ran out of things to watch on Netflix, and being sick is kind of ruining my whole weekend. So please tell me you’re here to save me from my misery with beer, and junk food, maybe whiskey I’m not picky.”
“I’m afraid none of those things -- But medicine and soup might actually be helpful, and that I do have.”
“Tell me at least one person is up for karaoke in this town. If there isn’t, then damn. I picked the wrong place to live in.”
“If I wasn’t so busy I would say absolutely. I’m sorry, but perhaps another time?”
“….–Don’t judge me.”
Esther put her hands up in innocence. “No worries dear!”
“Margo you are so cute” Lyric smiled at her friend’s daughter. Despite her apperance and attitude, Lyric loved kids and the always wanted one. She hadn’t found the right person to have them with so she was living vicariously through her friend Esther. She pulled out her phone, taking a snapchat of Margo. “She has gotten so big Esther”
The friendship between Lyric and Esther was a bit of surprise, mostly to Esther, but she didn’t mind. Lyric was good with Henry and Margo, and much sweeter than they were given credit so Esther kept her around. “Oh I know, I can’t believe she’s turning six in December! And we’re going to have our first party, isn’t that right Margo?” Margo beamed and nodded her head.
Oliver was a few tables over when he heard the exchange between a mother and daughter, glancing up curiously just to see who it was. At the sight of the woman his eyes widened just a bit, not able to remember the last time he saw her. Rising from his seat he walked over to their table, clearly his throat a bit when he got over there. “Esther, is that you?” he asked, giving the blonde a small smile, before glancing at her two kids.
Esther had cleaned up her daughter’s mustache when someone she didn’t immediately recognize walked over. When they called her name she found herself staring in order to figure out who the man was when it hit her. “Oliver!” She exclaimed with a wide grin before standing up, Margo hopping up on her chair to take a closer look. “Good heavens how long has it been? Eight years?” Esther rambled as she pulled her old friend into a hug.
“That doesn’t sound like too much fun. Nope! It’s fine, I don’t have any school on Monday or Tuesday, ‘cause Harry is leaving on Tuesday, so I’m spending Monday with him – so I don’t have to be in bed at any time. You should stay out later, if you want, hang out with your friends or something!! I can totally do it.”
“I’m afraid it’s not. Just trying to calm down parents when they find out their perfect child doesn’t have a very perfect grade.” Esther laughed and blushed. “Oh no, that’s quite alright dear. Your brother is leaving?”
This is in my top three favorite Ingrid songs.
Izzy grinned up at Esther – the blonde was always one of her favorite teachers, definitely someone who she missed when she transferred from primary school to secondary school. “I knew you would get it,” she said with a nod. “— of course!! You know how much I love Margo and Henry. It’s not like I have anything to do, anyways. What are you doing that night?”
“Ah, just after school conferences. Nothing too exciting I’m afraid but they’re from four to nine, so I hope that’s not too late. If it is I’ll talk to Kaitlyn and work something out!”
