name: Yuuto Higurashi

age at time of death: 29

father of Kagome and Souta Higurashi, late husband of Himiko Higurashi.

Yuuto’s life came to an end due to a car accident when Kagome was 5 years old, and Himiko was pregnant with Souta. 

Yuuto and Himiko met just as Himiko was enrolled into the same high school, he was already a few years older than her. Yuuto was known to be caring and loyal to those he cared about, he also was a bit of a clutz. He never failed to make Himiko laugh though. It was love at first laugh. They had their ups and downs like any relationship but when they came back, they were stronger together than ever before. They dated all throughout High school and married right after. They tried for a few years to have a child, and just as it seemed like they were to never get that dream, Himiko found herself pregnant at the age of 24 years old. They gave birth to a beautful baby girl and lived as a perfect and happy family. Soon, Himiko was pregnant once again and with the joy of hearing they were to have a son next, Yuuto went out to buy the essentials they needed, even some toys! But, never returned home. That was the night Yuuto passed away, leaving his home, wife, daughter, son, and father to live a life without him. Every year on his birthday as well as any holidays, Himiko found she missed him the most those days. It got easier, being able to cook and be there with her family after a few years. Though she misses him greatly every day, she still hopes one day he will return to her. Until then, she will continued to go to his grave, and spend some time there talking to him, keeping him up to date with everyting going on in their lives. When it’s time to go, Himiko leaves pink and red carnations at the base of his grave.

too comfortable he was — lounging like he owned the place and scratching an ear with a clawed pinky. “ — got any food? i’m starvin’! kagome said wait here but she’s taking forever.”

Humming quietly to herself, the woman washed her hands and dried them quickly on her apron as he spoke. "Of course. What are you in the mood for? I have some left overs if you'd like something quicker...although..most of it is curry. Perhaps I can make you some stir fry instead?"

Kagome hugs her mother tightly. "I've missed you, Mama."

A smile came to the womans' lips. "I've missed you too, my dear. So very, very much."

“Of course~! ‘Tis the season.” She laughed softly. “I’ll be sure to hide them from your grandfather as well as Souta.”

A gentle smile came to the woman’s lips as relief washed over her. Thank goodness nothing was wrong! This of course was advice she could give to the best of her abilities.  “Of course, sweetie. You know I’m always here for you. What about my dear granddaughter do you need advice on?”
