Tom Cotton and Gang of #47saboteurs NEED conflict, as much as Ayatollahs do in Iran, to prevent peace.

Totally didn't take enough pictures, so I stole some great instagrammers' shots! 😉 What a great view - the hills were killer, but now I can say that I ran over the Golden Gate Bridge! Recovery is in the cards for me now, (rest and yoga,) and then off to break in my new shoes (Cumulus again) and looking for a few good late-spring halves!
My baby got real running shoes. Now it just has to stop raining so we can go out!

My awesome new smoothie maker (Chanukah present to ourselves!) Kicks my old nutri-bullet's butt in the ice-crushing department and cost $70 less. Today's special: Chocolate protein powder, almond milk, and a handful of mint leaves. Yum! (Totally why I run...)

Does McDonald’s Belong in a Children’s Hospital?
The children’s hospital where I work recently announced it will be getting rid of its onsite McDonald’s. The restaurant will be out by the end of the year. It joins a long line of hospitals that have ejected their golden arches, including Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The Cleveland Clinic once tried to do so, but couldn’t get out of its contract.
Why would a hospital seek to evict McDonald’s from its premises?
In a nation confronting epidemics of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, healthcare facilities do not want to encourage fast-food eating patterns. No hospital wants to “send the wrong message.” A 2006 study showed that people who see a McDonald’s in a hospital tend to rate its food as healthier. Perhaps its mere presence smacks of endorsement.

I have been tired, cranky - just generally miserable for a while now. It was holy-shit-cold this morning, but I'm sure my mood has had a lot to do with my activity level (about a 0 right now...) so I ran. Bonus? Gorgeous sunrise in front of me.
