Her Fury was on the other side of the hanger bay. Between it and the two of them was an entire squadron of storm troopers. At least Dany could sense that the child was fine on the ship - the Imperials hadnโt gotten past her security locks yet, but it was only a matter of time. ย It had been considered an acceptable risk to set down in Mos Eisley, a risk that was coming back to bite them. Another blaster bolt flew over her head. These cargo crates were not going to last as cover much longer and thatโs when her companion spoke. Dany glanced over, her gaze narrowing as she considered his armor. If she drew their fire, he could make it to the ship - could escape with the child.
โIโm going to cause a diversion. Youโre going to make a break for the ship. Take it and get clear of here,โ Daenerys instructed firmly. At best, she was looking at being captured. At worstโฆ it didnโt matter. She didnโt waver, drawing her focus on the Force, as she rose from behind the crate, her lightsaber flashing as it deflected shots while Dany ran for the interior where more of them awaited. She took a glancing hit to her shoulder just before ducking behind a bulkhead. A drop of sweat slipped down her temple. From here, she could see that there was an imperial fighter in a small docking alcove. Stepping out again, her lightsaber was a blur as it deflected shots, but Dany was tiring even as the squadron started closing the distance.
He considered her words for a few seconds, his mind working quickly to try and come up with something else. But there was little time for an alternative plan. However, he had weaponry on the ship heavy enough to ensure her escape too. If he could be sure to get there...
He was not a stranger to working alone, and he was not a stranger to escaping seemingly impossible situations. Yet, Daenerys had proven a good travel companion and she was able to help keep an eye on the child. Almost as if there was some type of invisible bond between them that could not be explained in lay terms.ย
If he let her take the fall for him, it wouldnโt keep the child safe. It would buy them time, but they would still be hunted. Yet, both of them making it to the ship in this current situation seemed very unlikely.
She gave him no time to come up with any other options, though. She moved quick and drew their fire almost immediately. He knew she wouldnโt last long, and there were many more of them than there were her -- and probably more on the way.
Taking the opportunity while eyes were off of him to make a break for the ship. Blaster fire quickly headed in his direction. Pulling his own blaster and firing at random over his shoulder. The ship so close, and he only hoped his force using companion was able to hold them off a few more seconds longer. Legs carrying him as fast as he could go, until he was finally boarding. Quick work made of executing those few troopers trying to break through locks to retrieve the child. There was no time to check on the tiny one, however. That would have to wait until they were off this damned planet.ย
โHang tight!โ He called, not sure if the child had even heard him, as he scrambled to the front of the ship, flipping switches and mashing buttons frantically to get them off the ground before all but falling into his seat and readying the guns. He would buy Dany cover and hopefully get in a position where she would be able to get to some sort of safety until they could meet up again, if she was not able to board the ship before he had to leave.
