I might be insane

I just deleted my entire cc folder

there were 79 subfolders

Probably close to 700 pieces

And then I deleted my ENTIRE GAME

So it looks like I might have to start over

My game downloaded and installed itself twice onto my computer so it’s basically unusable because now it says that I don’t have Cats and Dogs installed, which if you’ve been keeping track means I can’t actually play. 

I’m getting an external hard drive exclusively for the sims within the next week or so, so if anyone wants me to restart (or do a different challenge?  Not that this one was very successful) uh, let me know.

A Prince is born!

October 19th, 1898

The Queen gave birth to a very healthy, very loud baby boy today.  Good work, Your Majesty!

That’s a really great question!  The way this blog is set up is it’s almost like newspaper articles from the time, so I don’t think there will be any colorised pictures right now, but I did post the in-color version of Queen Lena’s coronation portrait with her obituary, which I liked, so I’ll probably do that when the monarch dies in each generation.

As we move through the generations, I’m going to be making them look old school less (because the technology exists to take color photos) and more in color more.  

But thank you for the compliment! It means so much to me!

The Queen is expecting!

January 30th, 1898

Happy new year!  The first baby born under the Queen’s rule will be born later this year.

When asked if she’s hoping for a boy or a girl, Her Majesty was quoted as saying “As long as it’s healthy, I don’t care.”

After her devastating miscarriage six months ago, no one can blame that she just wants a healthy and happy baby.  We hope this little one arrives!

Happy birthday, Princess Celia!

December 21, 1897

The new heir to the throne turned 17 today.  She posed in a new, light pink silk gown for the occasion and kept her hair back with a braid.

The Queen announced that no unmarried members of the Royal Family are to wear any of the crown jewels, so Princess Sylvia will have to wait until her wedding day before donning one of the beautiful tiaras in the collection.

Long Live Queen Celia!

November 20th, 1897

The Coronation for Princess (now Queen!) Celia was held today.  More pictures to follow of the festivities, but we have the first official portrait of Her Majesty.

Because the entire kingdom is still in mourning of Queen Lena, the newly-crowned queen kept the festivities to be very short.  She wore a black crepe gown and black opera gloves for the coronation.  Around her neck and dripping from her ears were a string of rubies surrounded by a halo of diamonds, to match the jewels in the Coronation Crown.

There was no dancing or music, as was the case with Queen Lena’s coronation ball.  Instead there were just pictures taken of the Royal Family (with Lady Adelaide and Prince Benjamin, and without).

Prince Sebastian has died

November 15th, 1897

A very sad day at the Royal Palace indeed.  Prince Sebastian passed away within hours of Her Royal Majesty Queen Lena passed away.  

Rest in Peace.

Another Royal Wedding

August 31, 1897

Massive gatherings at Brindleton’s chapel this afternoon for the marriage of Princess Adelaide Brubacker and Lord Cornelius Charm.  Lady Emilia Charm was unfortunately ill and therefore unable to attend.

Princess Adelaide- now to be addressed as Lady with her new title- wore a lace wedding gown in a new fashion with a silk sash and silk sleeves.  She wore her birthday tiara and jewels and a lace floor-length veil was pinned under her hair.  She carried a bouquet of white peonies.  Lord Cornelius wore a velvet tux and a top hat.

The new Princess Edith also did not attend the festivities as she spent the day with the nanny.
