Rigs groaned, his head rocking back as he drew out the sound. Allowing his head to lull forward, he shot the other a disbelieving expression, “How are you even more pretentious? Did somebody stoke your tail and tell you you were a good little fox?” The Naga’s heart began to beat faster, the promise of a fight exciting him in a way nothing else could. Eyeing the other’s claws, Rigs felt his fangs poke out, the adrenaline fueling his change as he replied mockingly “Did you get a manicure? It’s cute.”

Dark grey scales covered the Naga’s body in an instant, his blackened eyes shining with anticipation as he crouched. Without waiting for a retort he sprang at Cloud, a low hiss of laughter escaping this throat as he aimed to bowl the other over. Their fights were always enjoyable, and though Rigs hadn’t been looking for this tonight, he wouldn’t ever say no to a good sparring match.

Pretentious was not a word Cloud would choose to describe themselves. It made their hackles rise at the taunting, perhaps a little too easily. Fights with the naga had become a routine whenever the two met. Although it had perhaps been a decade or so since the two had crossed paths, the intensity of their exchanges never dwindled over the years. The gumiho watched as the naga charged towards them, gracefully stepping out of the way as befitting to their stature and presentation. A light scoff with thinly veiled excitement escaped the fox as their tails flicked in a dismissive manner behind them. “What a brute. And here I was, thinking that you’d had learned a little more about delicacy...I suppose the youth of these days are simply brash and crude.” 

Licking their lips, Cloud approached Rigs from behind, claws extended with every intention to dig deep into their scales. Despite knowing from their past experiences that the Naga’s exterior was harder than any armor that they had ever encountered, Cloud was never one to back down from a challenge - especially with how they had boldly exclaimed to rip the scales off the other one by one.

It shouldn’t have caught him so off-guard when a tongue swiped teasingly over his lips, but Minseok felt like his brain momentarily short-circuited at the contact. It made the temptation that much more difficult to ignore, his biological need to chase physical contact and sate his hunger for intimacy of any kind fighting against his tiny sliver of conscience telling him this wasn’t the time nor place. Cloud had pulled back before he could follow through with any urge and Minseok could only stand stock still as they circled him like he was prey to be devoured, further testing his self-restraint when soft fingertips traced over his skin. His eyes followed where they could, head turning to keep them in his line of sight as the teasing continued. As the other spoke, he could see the pleased glint in their expression, clearly proud of themselves for something. “Oh, I can assure you, I have plenty to bring to the table.” He taunted in return, a teasing lilt to his voice.

“Hmm, would you now?” Minseok heard the other patrons before he fully registered their presence in the room, focused on Cloud entirely until the patter of shoe soles against the floor prompted the elder to step away from him and drew Minseok’s attention away from them for just a moment. As he watched the people around them admire the art, he could see Cloud beginning to move away from him in his periphery. It shifted his attention back to the other. “I’m not sure you could handle me in my element,” he countered in a taunting timbre, expression teasing and playful as he ran his tongue over his bottom lip, teeth digging into the skin as he regarded the art curator. “But I’d certainly love to see you try.” Sparing a quick glance at their mundane company to be sure they weren’t attracting too much unwanted attention, Minseok strode after them, closing the small distance Cloud had managed put between them fairly quickly. Lips pressed close to the elder’s ear and breath exhaled gently against their skin, Minseok let his teeth graze against the lobe of their ear before he spoke. “Come find me when you get bored of your paintings. I guarantee I’m a lot more interesting than paint on canvas, and you can do a lot more than just look with me.”

The issue of challenge did not go rejected by the old fox. Instead, Cloud’s smile widened by a fraction, the minute twitch in facial muscles adding to the haughty disposition they seemed to possess. The sough-out opportunity of a quick fuck had all too quickly spiraled into something else that had snatched the mischief-loving demon all too quickly, feeling the base of where their tails would be tremble faintly at the idea of play. 

Footsteps slowed to a pause as Cloud arched their neck to regard the individual behind them. They had not considered the difference in their physical statures, and now as they stood in extended proximity of each other, something within Cloud began to stir in what seemed to be....anticipation? Excitement? There was not a word that the fox could fully place a finger on, but it was a thought for later contemplation, one that they did not linger on for long with more pressing matters at hand. “You must be trying to test me, are you not?” The curator purred, slightly pitchier than their usual tone of speaking. Cloud would perhaps never tire of paintings, but Minseok was a distraction that they would gladly allow to snatch their attention, for more than just their briefest of moments. Not that they needed to know that, of course. “I shall indulge you then, impatient child.”

Waiting for the echos of trodding feet to fade away, Cloud spun around to face the persistent youth then. They were once again struck by the boyish appeal amidst the defined bone structures, and Cloud could see themselves not tiring of looking at this set of features...or perhaps, looking down on said face. “This museum has six storeys, each being the home to four different exhibits.” Eyes lingered on Minseok’s features, pausing slightly to let the beginnings of Cloud’s explanation to sink in. “I’m sure you’ve played hide and seek before.” A slim finger pointed squarely at Minseok’s chest. “Hide.” The same digit gracefully moved to point at themselves, lips curled into a foxy smile. “Seek. For an hour.” With the roles minimalistically defined, Cloud continued with the expectations of their little game. “Of course, every game comes with a prize. If I win, I get to do what I want with you. If you win..that is up for discussion. Unless there is something specific you had in mind right now that you would like to place up on the table as a bet?” Cloud’s brow raised in challenge.

“Absolutely horrible. Humans are everywhere. The smell of dog is always cloying my nose. It is disgusting. Stupid flying rats croaking at me through my window at the ass crack of dawn. I would have stabbed them all in the throat if not for the fact that their single braincell urges them to leave my immediate presence the moment I rise. Back in my day, we tore into their flesh without mercy. Roasted bird is quite delicious, although I can’t say I missed it much.”

Standing with his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his overcoat, Rigs stared at the painted stairwell before him with a blank expression. Having thoroughly enjoyed his day off, the dealer wasn’t sure if the bourbon or the weed was making the fish appear to swim before him. Then again, maybe some magic-user had decided to take the time to enchant this random stairwell in the middle of… wait, where was he?

Glancing around, the man narrowed his eyes as he studied the neon signs around him, trying to get a sense of where he’d wandered. The shops were vaguely familiar, but at 129 years old he could say that about almost every junction in Seoul. Given it wasn’t overly familiar he must’ve strayed outside of Veritas territory but… again, not exactly a helpful revelation. He sighed, beginning to tap his pockets in search of his phone; he’d have to figure out how to use the map again.

A soft noise caught Rigs’ attention, his eyes snapping to the cause as his hands stilled. Squinting again, as recognition bloomed he groaned, “You’re here? Where the fuck am I?”

Cloud didn’t bother to conceal the overly dramatic roll of their eyes. Posture relaxed as always, the near-millenia old fox spirit appeared to disregard Rigs as a threat of any kind. While it could not be said that Cloud remembered many in their passing (after all, their meetings with others usually ended in gruesome death of some form), Rigs and their (un)fortunate good fortuity had led them to such a situation. 

“And here I was, wondering what bold creature would wander this far...” The fox spirit mused with a lofty tone, sweeping a perfunctory glance at the taller individual as their tails swayed lazily behind them. “But it’s just the little danger noodle.” Cloud scoffed a taunt, hiding a subtle chuckle from behind the sleeves of their robe. “Perhaps that last round wasn’t enough for you, little one? Have you come for more? Or shall I chip away your scales, one by one this time to ensure that you’d never dare cross my path again?” Flexing their clawed fingers, Cloud’s eyes glinted in the night - a solitary predator ready for a hunt. “Come now, entertain me. That’s what you do best, isn’t it?”

“No, I said we were safer. Not safe.”

Cue the angered flicker of their marbled tails. The gumiho’s foxy ears twitched in response to the thinly concealed irritation that seemed to rise with each word that fell from the other’s lips. “Perhaps you should not have said anything, then,” Cloud snarked back, flinging the dust off the sleeve of their silky robe. There was nothing that annoyed the gumiho more than being threatened in any way or form. What added to their vexation was the added equation of the unknown. Cloud did not appreciate not knowing things. “Had you not gotten carried away with your incessant need for a petty fight, perhaps we would not be in this situation.” Unlike the millenium old being that they were, the gumiho ended their statement with a stomp of the foot. A literal putting their foot down. 

Inhaling deeply, Cloud seemed to find their bearings once again as their shoulders relaxed with their natural poise. “It matters not. I will not be hunted like one of those pathetic dogs,” Cloud sneered as they began disrobing, peeling the dirt-laden material off their torso. Fur began to sprout where skin revealed as their two legged form morphed away, twisting and stretching until they were in all fours - a large marbled arctic fox with nine beautiful black-tipped tails spread out behind them. “The ones that should be concerned about safety should be them, for I will be the most dangerous right here and now.” The fox opened their maw, letting out a sharp, shrill laugh that pierced the night. “Now sit down and watch, little venomous noodle. Let this be a lesson.”

“You got about as much charm as a dead slug.”

“Dead slugs must be very charming to you, then,” Cloud answered flippantly without bothering to look up from the art catalogue that was spread open on their lap. Even with their aesthetic glasses hanging off the slope of their nose, dying to be pushed up, the Gumiho appeared unruffled by the straightfoward manner of speech. Perhaps, had they been centuries younger, it may have torched a nerve...or all the nerves. However, Cloud was an individual confident in their own presentation - both physical and in personality, and truth be told, they simply had lost even the motivation to respond with the same tenacity that was offered to them. “Now, if you’re quite done with your cross examination of my appeal and what-not, don’t you have some screws to twist? Or perhaps a dent to pop?” The gumiho made a faint waving gesture. “Run along now.”

Eyes flashing with interest at the pet name, Minseok’s demeanor shifted entirely. Little one - the words only served to verify Minseok’s hunch that the other was much older than their appearance suggested and that piqued his interest even more. Age meant experience and power, and power meant energy; energy he could potentially siphon and take for himself if he played his cards right. The amused curl of his lips morphed into something more coquettish as his gaze followed Cloud’s every move, head tilting as he hummed in contemplation. “Besides art, I have to admit my interests are less than refined. They generally involve copious amounts of alcohol and little to no clothing.” A brief pause as he leaned in closer, further shrinking the already minimal distance between them. “Though at the moment, I’m most interested in you.”

It was apparent that Cloud had picked an interesting one. A brow cocked in amusement, followed by the subtle curl of one side to their lip that hinted at teeth that were too jagged to belong to a mere mortal. The gumiho was both not picky, yet extremely selective with ones that they brought to the figurative bed. To Cloud, it was a necessity to be slated in order to achieve their goals, and if it benefited both parties, then it was what it would be. Play was not a concept that Cloud could say they were an expert in, yet they felt the phantom twitch at the base of where their tails would be located had they been visible. 

“Is that so.” Cloud responded without the hint of being flustered, allowing the other to enter their immediate space. A whiff of it had the fox spirit’s senses tingling, the distinct scent of wolf amidst the blend of others was enough to excite them at the prospect of danger. “What coincidence, I happen to have more than one hobby.” Cloud mirrored the other, the gap between them now nonexistent as Cloud inched to hover their lips mere centimeters away from the unnamed individual, the breath of their whisper ghosting along the other’s skin. “After all, looking at the same pieces of art for over centuries can get rather monotonous, don’t you think?” 

The Gumiho was pushing boundaries, and knowing the possible consequences that came with it ignited an interest in the old soul. With a playful, teasing lave of their tongue across the other’s tender lips, Cloud gently pushed the youth away with gentle yet firm pressure of their fingertips against broad chest. The gumiho hummed with a sound of approval, pleased at the physical presentation and the way he felt in that briefest moment of contact. “I’m interested in what you’d bring to the table,” the fox spirirt paused for a moment, just for dramatic purposes. “Minseok.” 

Like a taunting fox, Cloud circled the other’s immediate perimeter, allowing the tips of their fingers to barely trace the other’s skin. “I’d love to see you in your element,” they purred, almost pleased at the short moment that they were able to share with each other. “But unfortunately, the museum is not the most conducive environment.” As soon as the gumiho had said that, a few other people walked into the exhibit area. “Don’t worry, little one,” Cloud continued with a self-assured smile, tapping the tip of their button nose as they spun around, sauntering away. “I’ll know where to find you.”

He shifted on the bench, readjusting himself to fully face his company. “Can’t say I’m familiar with the style but consider my interest piqued,” Minseok paused briefly, wheels turning in his head as he contemplated his next move. An attractive, potentially supernatural being stood before him, one who had garnered his interest more than the prospect of viewing an art exhibit and he didn’t want to miss the chance to reel them in. He wasn’t in desperate need of an energy fix, but when an opportunity presented itself, who the hell was he to pass it up? He was half-incubus after all, it was in his nature. “Though I have to admit, museums and fine art exhibits aren’t really my area of expertise. Perhaps, you’d be willing to give me a private tour of this exhibit?”

Cloud was no fool. With the barely concealed manner of study, Cloud held themselves with elegant poise, locking his own gaze with wandering eyes. Cloud had no reservations when it came to their appearance - the years had done nothing to their appearance, age merely showing in the way they conducted themselves and in the way their eyes took in the world around them. It was a pity that they were simply a recreational artist, Cloud had initially mused. But truth be told, it mattered little to them. They were not here to discuss Pollock and Picasso, although perhaps there may still be hope for them quite just yet. 

“Certainly,” the smile that bloomed across their features were secretive, one that spoke of thinly veiled intentions. Of course, for all Cloud knew, the other could be honestly in search for personal development of finer things in life, but it was nothing a gumiho such as themselves would not be able to rectify at a later time. “It is always my pleasure to be part of one’s journey towards discovering the joy of art. My name is Cloud, and I am in charge of curating and appraising the pieces you see in this space. There will be no one else more fitting to guide you in the experience of myriad artistic mysteries gathered here.” Cloud spoke with a toned-down flourish as they gestured for the other to follow along. 

Normally, Cloud took their work in the museum seriously. After all, they had tirelessly spent hours in procuring and curating the historical artifacts and art that adorned their own corners in the space. It was a small pleasure the gumiho found themselves surprisingly immersed in despite the insistence that not much mattered to them any more in this time and age. For this time, Cloud led the other in a perfunctory tour, gesturing out to a few of their favourite pieces. Each piece differed from one another, yet with the auditory guidance, everything seemed to fall in place on its own. 

While the gumiho was not exactly chatty, the silence that fell as soon as the two stepped into a different space was apparent. Spinning around to face the other, the gumiho made a sound of appreciation as they tilted their head slightly with a smile of amusement. “Now that we are away from the eyes of the mundane, why don’t we get to actual business?” Cloud closed the distance between the two with calculated steps, eyes half-mast as they savored the energy that seemed to cling to the youth like a second skin. “Why don’t you tell me more about your interests, little one?”
