Ace's last words before fucking dying being "thank you for loving me" is some diabolical shit. Fuck you Oda how dare you 10/10
Discourses about platonic relationships being as important will never move me because it always comes at the expense of queer ships. « Let men be friends » « Let women be friends » meanwhile in the real world the actual discourse is « Do man/woman friendship really exist? » with a huge amount of women, feeling betrayed, talking about their male friends confessing and men admitting they stay in the friendzone waiting for an opportunity. It’s clear to me that same sex friendship isnt the one who need to be represented.
ok but it’s still so crazy how the crazies were gas lighting us about mr queen and saying it was straight all along when bonghwan and cheoljeong were full on making out every episode 😭 “it was soyong all along that cheoljeong liked” even though he kept a dictionary of 2022 slang that he lovingly learns from mr bonghwan? does soyong know what a fcking air conditioner or “no touch” is? LIKE 😭 everything cheoljeong fell in love with ended up disappearing this story is actually a heartbreaking tragedy how dare they celebrate it. or when they say bonghwan never actually liked cheoljeong when bro lovingly looks at his portrait when he gets forcibly removed and CRIES 😭🥺 i HATE these gooner ass kdrama fans sm they didn’t even let us be sad in peace 😭😭
World government?
He can govern my world alright.....
panic
panic in the pentagram
panic
satanism ain't no fun
i feel like im pretentious about repression or whatever like oh they can identify and name their repressed desires thats like the boring level one repression wheres the level of repression where they cant even begin to contemplate their own desires because contemplating them is a slippery slope to actually having desires which is a slippery slope to everything
I just cant handle Chopper crying. That's my son.
you know what really hurts?
when two queer characters clearly love each other, but can’t be together, and no, not because they don’t want to, but because they’re trapped by fear, by shame, by the world around them. those kinds of ships always end up haunted by the dreams of what could’ve been.
and you know what hurts even more?
when they do get to love, but it ends in tragedy. when one of them dies, and everything that could’ve been turns into memory.
but what hurts the most is when two characters love each other with every damn fiber of their being, love THAT’S SO OBVIOUSLY ROMANTIC. they have everything, trust, care, that unspoken connection, the way they look at each other like it’s the first and last sunrise. it’s right there, SO CLEARLY THERE, everyone can see it. amd yet it’s dismissed as "just close best friends" or a " brotherly/sisterly bond." they look at each other like they mean everything, and still, the plot refuses to name it for what it is. it’s like watching something beautiful get misnamed on purpose.
that heartbreak comes from this 'almost', from love that’s right there, but buried under heteronormativity, censorship, or fear.
you see two people who look at each other like the world itself depends on it, who speak in devotion, who’d die for each other, who hold more love than most canon couples ever dream of, and yet the writers and the audience amd everyone goes, "best friends." like that label could ever contain what they have. like it’s not so obviously more.
that kind of love hurts the most. because it’s real. it’s right there. but it’s never allowed to be named, and it’ll never grow old.
Idols are mistreated by fans. Everybody talk about agencies mistreatment but I believe fans behaviors play a huge role in suffocating idols. Some of agencies mistreatment come from an anticipation of fans’ wants and needs. The strict diet for example … no matter what kpop stans love to pretend they crave thin and pretty idols.
And when you observe the behavior of some fans its easy to notice when they start being more strict toward the idols. After a « scandal », they might not leave the fandom but will tolerate less « mistakes » from the idols.
No matter how much people on twitter try to convince me I'll never believe that a twink who may say I'm fat or poorly dressed or whatever is "worse than a straight man"
i condone cheating when you write them in unhappy forced heterosexual marriages that only exist for an easy cashgrab media
that side of the fandom will get really triggered when people make jokes about the hokage and his right hand man getting some in the hokage’s office and be like “oh so you condone cheating” as if they don’t follow a series that condone child soldiers and genocide
there's a certain breed of jjk fan who gets so incredibly weird and stupid about kirara it's almost fascinating to watch. "wait, that's a boy?" think long and hard about that. "oh, but gege never said--" why do you need everything spoon-fed to you. genuinely reflect on that. your media literacy cannot be this dogshit. do better.
and I know a lot of it is just transphobia. a lot of it is just people being nasty and making gross jokes about her. a lot of it is people not wanting her to be trans because of her relationship with hakari, because her being trans means that their goat is in love with a trans woman. they take hakari not liking guys as confirmation that they're not together, when it should instead be taken as confirmation that she's not a fucking guy. they act as if their relationship is ambiguous because, again "gege never explicitly said--" because they're uncomfortable with the idea of someone like hakari loving a trans woman because they themselves hate trans women.
but some of it is also just actual stupidity and that's so baffling to me. the dots aren't even hard to connect. someone who hasn't seen her in a long time refers to her as a boy because that's what she presented as last time he saw her and now she doesn't anymore. like, very very obviously. the guy she's very obviously dating states plainly that he doesn't like men. which is why he is not dating a man. genuinely what more do you need.
"oh but it's only implied" yeah and why do you think that is. do you think there might be a reason for that. do you think maybe the intention was for you to pick up on that implication and come to a conclusion based on it. do you think maybe sometimes authors dont spell everything out for their audience because they trust that the audience can pick up on very obvious context clues. do you think maybe you have the media literacy of an infant. gege akutamis writing is not complicated enough for you to be acting this dense.
To me Illit fashion concept is « girls who dont have a defined fashion style are wearing their big sister/mother’s old clothes ». They dress like they took pieces of clothing that they find individually pretty and then put them on without caring if they go together. I guess its to symbolize their youth and naivety.
