I just deployed another zoom feature for new comics reader!!! Zoom for mobile devices for webcomic-type chapters :D Just use your two fingers to zoom a page :D Enjoy! Soon zoom features for desktop users :) Cheers, Michał Wrzosek

Fixes on Safari and Firefox

I just deployed fixes for new comics reader on Safari and Firefox - mostly for book layout reading version. Let me know if you have any suggestions about this new way of reading :D Cheers, Michał

Improving performance

I see there is some performance issues in reader. I'll have to improve recalculating the size of translation balloons and improve image loading - there is this animated red spinner when image is loading which I think can cause some problems. Cheers, Michał Wrzosek

I fixed new comics reader :D So from now on artists can set how they want their comics to be presented: - Webcomic (scrolling down page by page) - Book (layout similar to book - left and right page)

If you want to use Book layout remember that pages should have equal height (like pages in book). You can also set direction of reading (left to right / right to left). There is also an option to use first page as a book cover. So first page will be moved out of left/right book layout.

Artists can also set background color on which their comics will be presented - this is mostly important for Webcomic layout.

From now on Mangaido will store info about your reading progress and did you read entire chapter. Soon I will push update that will allow you to see reading progress on list of chapters (progress bar below chapter cover). I hope this is a nice step towards creating kind of bookshelf for readers - still lots of features needs to be done to fulfil this idea :D

Let me know what should be fixed first or if you'll find some bug I should fix. I'll be releasing updates more often now, since this huge release is finally finished :D I'm so happy :D Cheers, Michał Wrzosek

I finished work on new comics reader app and I'm now reviewing code for possible issues. I just wanted to show you the amount of work I had to put into this "simple" feature :D Cheers, Michał Wrzosek

New comics reader is alllllmoooost there :P I started working on it November 07 2017 and it took me much more time than I thought it will. I spend so much time on it that I'm really angry at myself :D I feel like this task made me to much out of work that is much more important, which is keeping you guys informed, happy and entertained about our community that in just one year grow soooo much!

New comics reader features: - New "Book like" layout where you can read page by page by swiping sideways - "Book like" reader gives artists possibility to show their works that were created with a book in mind - "Book like" reader gives artists possibility to set reading direction - left to right or right to left - "Book like" reader gives artists possibility to set first page as a book cover - "Book like" reader will have special "Next" button that will highlight translation balloons automatically one by one - but there is still default way of showing comics as a "webcomic" - page below page like it is currently - artists can set color of reader's background on which comics is presented - there is now a menu on the bottom of the screen with all necessary things like "Comments", "Translations", "Chapters" etc. - From now on reader can keep track of which chapters they read and what is the current page they left reader

There is also some more improvements here and there but most important are the one I listed above. I created this reader with mobile devices on a first place and currently all the work that left is taking care of how reader is looking on desktops. I hope to finish this this week and show you results :D

First version of FAQ is finally published :D I'll add much much more there soon. Sorry that I was so quite recently but I dived too much into developing new comic series reader and kind of forget about everything else :P So, FAQ is here: https://mangaido.com/en/faq and in a week or two I will publish brand new reader (this is huge thing, believe me, lots of new cool features) Also, big thanks to @okami_haruma for helping new users and preparing this first few questions. Soon I will add some images and videos to improve FAQ even more. But, guys, we finally have FAQ! :P :P :P

Mangaido is growing! Okami Haruma joined our crew as a New Users Guardian! Okami will represent our new users and push me and rest of our team, to make Mangaido more welcoming and less confusing to people new to our community. Our first mission together will be creating our first FAQ :)

Hi guys!

I just uploaded a change that will make adult series visible for all the readers so it will not be so hard to find them as it was before. All the adult series will be signed be a "18+" red icon in upper right corner of series cover.

Note to artists: Please, keep your comic series safe for children because they will be visible for all readers.

Another change is about homepage - we changed algorithm of comic series we show. Now instead of showing just 4 recently popular series we show a mix of recently popular and recently updated 50/50.

Algorithm: (random 2 out of top 8 recently popular series) + (random 2 out of 8 recently updated series other than 2 popular selected before)

That way we will show both already popular series and the ones recently updated giving more readers more chance to discover something new from homepage.

Series fix info :)

Hi guys! Just wanted to give you a quick info that we're aware of the issue that adult series are harder to find on Mangaido, so we'll fix this, so that adult series will be also visible in main section along with the "safe" ones. We'll just ask you (artists) to use "safe" covers so that our younger audience will be "safe" :) Also we'll change the way we show series on homepage, so that we will show not only recently popular but also updated ones and some series less known :) I will give you more info once I roll out new update :) Cheers, Michał Wrzosek  ❤️
