I got more pics from FMC!

So last month I went to Fantasy & Magic Con and had some pictures taken (shoutout to amazing MLC Cosplay Photo [you can find him under mlc_cosplay_photo on instagram]).

I was so anxious my cosplay doesn't slap as much as the others but at the same time I knew it's my first serious cosplay made in under a month! So here it is, pre-Abyss Simon who kind of turned ginger (I used spray hair dye and it rubbed off way before first half of the day)

A couple of things.

One, Hot Rod's saw and welder made me think of Knock Out.

Two, I want G1 Arcee's gun.

Yeah, a saw in general is such an unusual weapon that my brain error catches on it a bit; the only protags with saws I think of off the top of my head are Doomslayer, over the top zombie flicks/videogames, and that Sharknado 2 trailer. Even for Knockout I'm pretty sure it was a surgical saw that he was just using as an improvised weapon. If I remember right G1 was loosely civilian vs military, so maybe Hot Rod's saw and welder might be construction/carpentry(-esque) tools?

For some reason Arcee's handgun reminds me of a 1911, which is weird because it doesn't meaningfully resemble one at all. Also the fact that it's designed to have a barrel and slide configuration since that's not really how I remember G1 weapons working.

I mean I think the other Autobots were shown at times to have a saw, but 1 it was rare amongst them, and 2 I'm reasonably sure the saws in question were military grade. Could be, and given Hot Rod seems to be invested in fishing, maybe he had other hobbies?

The gun might have simply been a visual reference for the design of her gun (you're correct, G1 guns didn't look exactly like real life guns.)

I still want it though.

Like Cybertronian carpentry? Makes sense, especially since I'm 90% percent sure that 1980s G1 implies that Autobot were meant to be laborers and Decepticons were intended to be war machines by the Quints.

Maybe a cosplayer has a prop gun and will choose to auction it off one day.
