Let's be clear, Barry Bluejeans isn't bi because he's in love with Lup. She's a woman, full stop, so normally I'd be fine with reading him as straight.

Barry is bi because his only reaction to waking up naked to two guys (and a walking talking mannequin) in his home was "WOW must've had a wild night lol better get dressed". No panicking over what this means for his sexuality, just calm acceptance and a request for the clothes Merle is holding.

Barry found it entirely possible he partied nude with some dudes, and you'll never convince me he wasn't wondering which of them, if not all of them, he fucked.

ok guys whatever you do dont think about merle on the mushroom planet giving hope to a hopeless people he'll never see again just because he wants them to feel strong. and staying with them as the hunger descends and DO NOT think about them singing as a congregation while merle promises them that no matter what happens theres gonna be a future for them because thats what faith is about DONT THINK ABOUT IT. DONT THINK ABOUT how he brought music to these people and how theyre saved by the church he built them and he refuses to leave them alone inside even as hes pulled aboard the starblaster by the universe and DO NOT. IN ANY FUCKING WAY. THINK ABOUT HOW he did all this knowing in a year it could have been for nothing and he didnt care because he just wanted to bring them hope, and its only because he chose to bring them hope regardless that it was not for nothing. DONT THINK ABOUT IT

Something about how Lucretia "The Lonely Journal Keeper" was lonely from the beginning. How she was set apart in her role as "the chronicler", decidedly not a dedicated scientist or adept magic user or adventurous hero, alone in her role within the crew. How she stayed behind on the ship most often, how she had to endure her own awful, lonely year, how she loved her family so much but that was not enough to save them. How she was the only one to be inoculated during the century, the only one whose opinion differed amidst the seven and the only one who could do what needed to be done. The Director was so, so lonely after she put her plan in motion, but the weight of the world had always been settled upon her back. The Lonely Journal Keeper had been lonely long before she was actually alone.

The Adventure Zone: Story and Song Graphic Novel is out in bookstores everywhere today! I can't believe it!! I'm so excited for you to get to read it, and I can't wait to hear what you think.

When we started making these graphic novels, I thought we'd be lucky if we got to make any more than the very first one-- so to have actually been able to complete the entire Balance arc means the world. We would never have made it this far without all of the time and attention and care you've given TAZGN over the years. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration to get to be a part of! But all comics are ultimately a collaboration between the folks who make them and those who read them. We all put every last ounce of work, heart, and joy into these books that we possibly could, and I can only hope that that shines through. The rest is up to you!

They all probably had to figure out what the subtle differences between universes were

Have you ever thought about the fact that Lucretia was the only living person on the planet who didn’t go through some kind of memory loss when she fed her journals to Fisher? Not just Tres Horny Boys, not even the IPRE crew, the whole planet. She erased memory of entire wars that affected everyone. So presumably when Junior shared the Story, people outside the Starblaster crew were regaining memories - they didn’t just learn about the Century that the IPRE experienced, they were also remembering wars they lived through. And that’s fucking me up a little.

I know Griffin didn’t say anything in the Stolen Century to imply that the people of Tesseralia and Legato were anything other than human (or elves or whatever)… but what if I like imaging them as funky aliens? I can’t explain why, but there’s something about Chancellor Marlow that says “bird woman” to me

Been thinking about how the Stolen Century is what perfectly completes Taako as a layered character. I know Lup is the most obvious part of that, but I think his speech about how everyone around him is just walking dust is SOOO crucial to who he is
