i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is “international” pride month just because something happened in the united states.
in aotearoa, june isn’t our pride, it’s theirs. marsha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that “you owe your rights to Black trans women” is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) Māori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.
But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa don’t even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we don’t.
our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1986. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.
anyway, happy pride, americans. i’m truly sorry that most of you don’t see the negative impact your nation’s culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and culture’s queer history, don’t accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.

So I watched the last episode of Invincible Season 4 a few hours ago. I loved it. Like the whole thing. But what got me the most.
“All I noticed was how much I missed you.”
BOY AFTER MY HEART FOR REAL.
I will try to make time to make an animatic of this scene asap.
ALSO IF DEBBIE GETS BACK WITH NOLAN THE WRITERS BETTER HANDLE THAT WITH THE UTMOST CARE- I DON’T CARE WHAT YOUR BOSSES ARE TELLING YOU THAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY.
Okay so the last episode of Season 4 Invincible is coming out today and I was gonna watch it with my bro and then brainstorm animatic ideas- buuut we might go see Project Hail Mary in theaters tonight. So.
I need to start optimizing my time so I can create more art 😤 But oh why must I submit myself to Time…
Franky and Robin join the cuddle pile!! 🏴☠️💗💞

If my brother Samer dies, it won’t be just because of illness…
it will be because no one stopped to help.
I am his family, asking you with everything we have left.
One share can reach the right person. One donation can keep him alive.
We are trapped in Gaza with no access to treatment, and time is running out.
Please don’t let silence be what takes him from us.
Help Samer live. 🙏🍉

@changes Y’all quite literally stated:
“Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.”
Then you got more than 30,600 people, barely within 24 hours, in your comments saying this change compromised your site’s core, and most of them at least considering leaving Tumblr if you keep this feature. And you decided to not only not hit the breaks on this update, but to spend excessive resources and time into taking the update further in a way even you, barely yesterday, said you wouldn’t do?
Tumblr has been a safe haven from other social media for I don’t know how long. Everyone who left Twitter and came here, left because they didn’t like Twitter anymore. Everyone who left Instagram and Facebook, and came here, left because, they didn’t like those platforms anymore. Not only do the users who’ve been on here for more than a decade not want this, not only do the users who came to Tumblr in recent years, not from other dying platforms not want this, the users coming here from those platforms don’t even want this.
In conclusion- nobody wants this.
But, you know that. So are you gonna change what you’re doing about it or keep hearing us and not giving a damn.
