sometimes when i feel lonely in this new city at the other side of my country, i call my father and he invariably asks me something along the lines of:

- “So have you looked into, uh, if there’s any of these... what’s it called... lgbt organisations?” and, no dadther i most definitely did not BUT i do appreciate you being so onboard with me not being hetero. Where my mother still pretends it was just a phase and demands every time we talk that i find a “good boyfriend”, when she’s not just outright spewing homophobic venom at me, my father has always been supportive and did his best to protect me from my mother, to the point where it put his marriage in jeopardy. anyways i was just thinking im grateful and i wish every gay teen had at least one parent like my father.
