A couple of old portraits.
Drawing cards: My two colleagues, Kayleigh and Ari, were at Derby hospital last week and managed to get these wonderful cars draw by some of the younger visitors to the Hospital. Unfortunately one poor boy had a broken hand so could not do one so I hope he gets well soon and that he’ll be drawing again soon.
DrawingCards 8: Draw the minute detail of something you are wearing My silver wedding ring.
Drawing Card 6: Draw your mood. Expectant, like waiting for a cup of tea. Drawing Card 7: Draw what makes you happy. A bus arriving on time. By special guest Ari.
Our day on the Drawing Card project at Derby Hospital was good and we gave out lots. This week we have placed a box and some cards in one of the waiting rooms and we’ll see what we get me to week. We also handed over some cards in another waiting area and while watching what people did with the cards me and Ari picked one each to draw, the results are above. Ari filmed me drawing mine and will make a short animation of it so I’m looking forward to that. We had some positive feedback from a few nurses who took the cards back for some for their young patients. All in all it was good 2 hours of getting the cards out there in the hospital and getting some more thoughts how to make it work better next time.
Drawing cards 5: Draw a dizzy line on a crumpled piece of paper. Had another morning at Derby Hospital volunteering for Air Arts last week, handing out the Finding Lines DrawingCards. Unfortunately it wasn't as successful as the week before, with few people interested. We will be putting a small box with some of the cards in one of the waiting rooms to see how people respond to them without me approaching them directly.
Drawing cards 4: Draw a machine. Doodle of an MRI machine. Started the Drawing card project last week and had an interesting start. Most people seemed confused at first, most likely wondering what we were after ;-). Once we explained that it was to help people relax and pass time while waiting for as hospital appointment they became more open to the idea. In all 13 people took part which was about half of who we spoke to. I have another session lined up today do we’ll see what happens.
DrawingCards 3. Find a reflection and draw it: Reflection of chairs in glass. Main reception area Derby Hospital. After a brief visit to the Hospital regarding the forth coming Drawing card project I was waiting to be picked by wife as Storm Doris raged outside.
Drawing Cards 2: Draw a shadowy image. Costa coffee scene, Intu Derby shopping centre.
The drawing card pictures I am doing for this project are done in approximately 5 to 10 mins. As I will be handing these out at Derby Royal Hospital I thought I should do as many as possible out and about in a crowded environment as I will be asking others to. I found today's drawing relaxing and took my mind off the stress of looking for a proper job.
Drawing cards 1. Imagine and Draw your favourite person from memory. Bonnie.
The Drawing Cards project is to start very soon and I have my set of cards. I will be taking them to a local hospital to encourage drawing card there. I will be picking one at random and completing them at regular intervals myself.
“Close your eyes and draw your face”. My attempt at one of the Drawing Cards.
