Possibly over 2100 years old, this statue head of the goddess Hygeia is attributed to the Athenian sculptor Attalos, son of Lacharès. It is from a healing sanctuary dedicated to Asklepios, Hygeia's father, at Pheneos, Greece. The head is carved from marble with glass and agate eyes with bronze eyelashes. It measures 80 cm (31 1/2 in) in height. This artifact is now housed by the Archaeological Museum of Pheneos in Kalyvia, Greece.
