I don't think Cloud is underneath his feet here (like the soldier lol), he is most likely kneeling in front of him (or at least that's what the POV is conveying). But who knows, Square be surprising me.....

Bright emerald eyes locked with his, and defensively she held onto her staff. She had wandered too far, wanting to look at some flowers that seemed to be sprouting from a crack in the ground. That was when she felt a certain kind of presence, and one that terrified her to no end. Aerith would keep up with her false-fearlessness, because she needed to appear that way in front of this one. In her mind, if there was any give that she was as weak as what he must think of her, then it would undoubtedly be a victory for him. And she would not have that!

Sliding out from the shadows, his wing faded into a rain of feathers as his feet touched the ground. He stared into those bright eyes that mirrored his own, green like mako energy, green like the life of the planet.

"And I know what you are," he said. This was not expected. This was not part of the plan. She was not meant to follow him here.

Time neither went forwards or backwards, as Sephiroth found out. Everything in the lifestream was connected and by unravelling those individual strands he could follow a path that led him straight to Cloud when he was at his weakest. It should have been a simple task of preventing his puppet from meeting the flower girl on that fatal night, but he had not anticipated the arbiters of fate bringing them together. Nor had he anticipated that she would find a way back to her living shell.

"Do you think you can stop me from fulfilling Mother's wish?" he asked her. "I have escaped the confines of destiny and changed the playing field. What happens next will not be dictated by destiny but by my own will. You have no power here."

Cloud's mind was drifting more and more into this haze, and he struggled to keep his eyes open. The large body above him was so overwhelming, and the sensations of everything else kept his mind from going too far away. It wasn't until he felt the chain being broken, and those lips descending upon him soon after, did it all come flooding back. His eyes widened, and he glanced down just enough to see that mouth cover over the rest of him, and then his eyes slammed shut as pleasure rocked through his entire body.

It was a certain kind of bliss, this feeling, and he couldn't believe how terribly his body was craving this; from his greatest enemy, of all people. The wicked sin that this was, his heart was trying desperately to keep up with the pace of his emotions, but all were so erratic, as his breathing now was. Cloud couldn't keep his voice down, and that now-freed arm flung up to cover half his face, shame burning on his reddening cheeks. "A--h--!! That's so good!" It almost didn't even sound like himself, uttering such things, moving his hips the way he was, rocking into that devilish mouth, like he were watching all this go on from outside his body. Yet, every part of him wanted more. Desperate for it. Despite his mind having a war with itself.

Cloud's delicate moans were a delicacy Sephiroth couldn't get enough of as he spread the pale thighs as far apart as the ankle cuffs would allow, plunging his tongue into the blooming flower and lapping at the sweet nectar within. He was rewarded with more erotic, incoherent pleas as he mapped out every crevice of Cloud's moist depths, casually fucking the blonde with his tongue as he massaged the tense thighs that involuntarily clenched around his head, ironically pinning him in place between Cloud's legs.

Flicking Cloud's bean, non-too gently, Sephiroth released Cloud long enough to shatter the two chains around the boy's ankles, before just as quickly reaching under his hips, gripping him by the ass and throwing the flailing legs over his shoulders. Lifting the blonde's lower half up, Sephiroth dipped his head down and swirled his tongue around the aching nub again, gently nibbling the tip, giving it an apologetic kiss, sucking it again.

"Come for me," he breathed against the abused flesh, folding Cloud's practically in half and spreading those trembling thighs as far as he possibly could without breaking him. Holding Cloud in the perfect position where he had no leverage to try and buck away from his touch and could only accept the pleasure being lavished on him. Diving back in, Sephiroth wormed his tongue back inside that delicious heat, pinning his enemy in place as he aggressively thrust with purpose, not stopping until his enemy screamed his name.

Cloud was surprised when the other kept showing up, again and again. Never did he see someone look so determined, despite the air of casualness he was giving to the others in the room. Was he really going to help me? He wondered each and every time he would see the silver-haired man come in and chat it up with some of the scientists. Days went, and it almost seemed like nothing of progress was coming along.

It wasn't until the attention was taken off of him, and onto another, did he finally have room to just float there and have some moments of peace. Even if it was at the expense of another's pain, he couldn't afford to think about that. This poor creature nearby would suffer a fate like himself, and he only felt helpless of it; while trying to tell himself that he didn't care. No creature deserved what they have planned for them, and whatever else they manage to take...

Those lashes fluttered as the man who would be his savior came into view, again, and he saw him retrieving the bucket of his feed. It took the merman a few seconds to process the words, but he nodded shortly after they were said, snatching one of the fish in his grip. Frozen. Long-since dead. It wasn't any way to eat a meal. He thought about the question for a few seconds more, biting into the head of it and enjoying what he could of the meal before responding.

"No. There's no chase with this. No... excitement for me." He thought of those feelings, of when a hunt was taking time to secure any sort of decent score. The struggle of getting to them before they hid away behind some crevice, or simply swam too fast to catch. He missed it all. "No freedom in this..." A gesture towards the general area of the tank, and a look of annoyance crossed his features. That tinge of hopelessness wanting to bite away at his thoughts, once more.

"Oh, you prefer your food to have a little more kick?" Sephiroth let out a low hum as Cloud tore the fish apart with his surprisingly sharp teeth. He knew it wasn't wise to sit on the edge of the tank with his bare feet gently kicking in the water, especially in front of a predator who had no positive feelings towards his captors. Had Cloud ever bit the hand that fed him, or had the scientists beaten defiance out of him? And did he view humans fellow sentient intelligent beings, or food.

The thought of pushing Hojo into the tank to find out did amuse Sephiroth as he threw the last fish in his bucket for Cloud to catch. Maybe Cloud would just drown the old man out of spite. It would be worth getting caught just to watch.

"Tonight," he promised. "The professor will be alone in his lab while the rest of the night staff prepare for a conference trip. If I bring his head to you, will you come away with me?"

He knew the merman had no reason to trust, why trust a human when they were the ones responsible for his current predicament? Especially when it meant making himself vulnerable outside the tank depending on Sephiroth to carry him to his new destination, a destination he had no bearing of.

"I can't take you to the ocean, not yet." He warned, current changes forcing him to adjust his plans and find a temporary home for Cloud. He could change the moving date but he would couldn't wait for another opportunity to get Hojo alone. "But I can get you out of this tank."

Cloud glanced up as he saw the pillar collapsing. The sound of that voice alerting him that he wasn't alone in this place, and something quite intelligent was also here. It made him feel incredibly alarmed, and uneasy, but he managed to dodge the structure that fell into pieces. With his mighty sword now out and at the ready, he held it in front of himself as he took in the view of this creature. Wide eyes narrowed, trying to hide the abrupt feeling of fear that threatened to blind him to any focused thought. No. He would remain vigilant, and at the ready for anymore attacks.

"Stay back!" He called out to it, and didn't enjoy the terrible sensation gnawing at his thoughts; that this may very well be his last few moments alive. "I wasn't aware of anything but treasure being here... Not sure if anyone else knows this thing exists." He was partially speaking to himself, but loud enough so that this one could overhear it. The massive size of this monster was incredible, and the large tail... body...? of it was almost mesmerizing with it's coloration. Even in this dim light, his materia ball on it's last bit of juice as his focus trained now on the enemy before him, was it enough to illuminate the dazzling form.

Sephiroth's long scaled tail wrapped around one of the ceiling structures and he swung upside down as he scrutinized the swordsman below, forked tongue flicking the air to taste the change in sweat that indicated a rush of adrenaline. His sense of taste was far better than his vision, which was not used to anything other than firelight in the inner sanctum. Had he had eyelids to blink with, he would have squinted from the intensity of it.

"Thing?" he repeated with a long amused hiss. "Men tend not to know things exist when they never live long enough to tell the tale."

His pointed gaze briefly flickered over to the pile of rusted weapons and discarded equipment that had become his gifts to the Great Mother. There were no human remains, of course, he swallowed all his victims whole and his stomach acids digested all living material, skeletons included.

"Now little thief, do you intend to be my next meal?" he asked, hovering closer to the warrior but not in range of the impressive sword he fully intended to add to his collection. "Should I consider it payment for stealing from my home?"

Like most SOLDIERs his enhanced biology means alcohol has little to no effect on his bloodstream and it takes a lot of effort to get Sephiroth drunk. He does enjoy the taste though, having been taught proper etiquette at a young age and attending many Shinra dinner parties. He likes pairing dishes with the right wine and sharing a glass of port at the gentleman’s club with his fellow first class. In his apartment he likes to keep a bottle of whisky on the rare occasion he has guests, and when finishing up paperwork. Just because he can’t get intoxicated doesn’t mean he can’t feel relaxed from the effects.
