Aristo StudioLog 0969, one of the bigger ones, 6,5x37cm,29 Scales
2 paperweights, about 12 cm.
New old one (and a bunch of work to do): Madas 16e, manual and motor, sadly not working(yet), but overall good condition. I really love the Swiss engineering, everything a bit too strong, very tight tolerances, which is sometimes a problem if you restore them. And a motor you could use for a washing machine ;) Data: build 1931-1949, 11kg, 8x8x16 digits, stepped drum mechanism.

I'm not that much of a fan of these quote quoting, but in this one of Charles Eames, the guy with the chairs (together with his wife Ray), has some fundamental truth in it IMHO https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_and_Ray_Eames?wprov=sfla1 #quotes #eameschair #charleseames #truth
Newly arrived soroban (Japanese abacus ) for the collection. I love it, when the pieces telling a story. On this one is a name tag, "Shibahara", I imagine a Japanese girl (cause I read the boy's sorobans were not in that good condition anymore most of the time) carrying it every day in her schoolbag and practicing with it. It's a little dirty, gotta clean it, but couldn't wait to share it proudly. No manual, but a box. Plus: it's real wood, the beads are birch,27 rods, runs very fast. It's real fun to become quicker with it, but I know I'll never be 7-year-old-Japanese-pupil-quick *sigh* A complete different approach to multiply/divide from left to right, the key are the 10 complements. #sliderules #sliderule #abacus #soroban #arithmetic #calculator
