Brenda found his hand, squeezed it. Once again, Thomas felt a ridiculous surge of guilt, like he was cheating on Teresa. He couldn't help that this girl was so touchy-feely.

Lol. Thomas doesn’t really like Teresa that much let’s be so for real now. He’s very attached to her, sure, but he’d be just fine with someone else romantically.

It goes like this: he loves Brenda’s attention, describes it in detail > remembers Teresa exists > “Oh yeah Teresa. Whoops.” > gets away from Brenda > immediately misses her touch. LMAO. Brenda ruined the illusion.

Newt remains the only real lover.

Newt and Frypan groaned simultaneously.

Are you telling me we could have had an enemies to lovers Minho x Brenda but the author made yet another girl fall for “ugly” Thomas???? I’m so mad actually what’s up with Thomas pulling everyone 😭

Jorge said he wanted Minho dead for what he did and Thomas IMMEDIATELY snapped “no.” As if lol.

I like that Thomas was finally forced to recognize that he cares for someone else other than Teresa. It’s always fucking Teresa. But now MINHO has been acknowledged too, thank you.

Newt is once again forgotten, but I’m sure he’ll be oh so very present right about before dies, just so Thomas realizes he loves him too. Thomas, baby, you’re slow.

Thomas was numb.

Not the senseless feeling that enables coherent thoughts. Or the usual expected pause when something has happened that will change their lives forever. No. There was no floating away in an endless void, that would usually be expected of the numbness. This was different.

A thick, strong rope, grabbed a hold of him in the whirling wind of his mind, taunting him. It was like no matter how hard he tried to free himself, the never-ending torment only grew. Sharp pains stabbing blindly from where it gripped him

No matter where he looked, or how hard he fought, the rope always pulled him down, with relentless ferocity.

Even in the very few moments where he tried to console himself with happier memories of a sunlit Glade reflecting off blond hair, every time he only saw dilated pupils and inky black veins.

He was numb on the outside. True.

But on the inside?

He was tearing apart.

That's when Thomas wailed. A seemingly inhumane sound. Yet it tore from his throat.

I love leader Minho but it pains me how much this has been affecting Newt’s self-esteem. And he feels guilty about feeling this way too; the way he immediately apologizes... I’m with Thomas, I truly hope Newt didn’t see how Minho dismissed him. 💔
