Reflection

Throughout the journey in this module, I have learn how to be creative. Although this module is not that easy to score but I think I have given my best towards completing this module. That's all. Before I end, I would like to thank my lecturer Ms.Fu because without her guidance, I won't end this module properly. Thank you.

Since this assignment contain many essays and writing, so I think making a video is the best option. In this video, it compresses of the 12 stories📄 and storyboard, the prototype that is used in the video 🎥and the pictures taken of my group members. 👬👭

One of my favourite book Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever it is the sixth book of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The books was released on November 15, 2015. I remember when I first started reading this series, only three of them had been published and I finished them in all under two hours. Needless to say that I love this series.

The book is set between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Worrying about the holidays, Greg writes in his journal that he has to change his behaviour to be good so Santa can be good to him in return. He and Rowley decide to be good boys till Christmas Eve. However, all does not go well as planned. They are accused of vandalizing school property and before any action can be taken, there is a blizzard in the season and the ground is covered in three feet of snow. This only means that Greg is locked with his family in his house and cannot step out.

My favourite part in the book was the flashback when Greg’s younger brother Manny is just a newborn and Greg’s mother buys him a doll to get used to the idea of being a big brother. The book is hilarious. It has so many moments of Greg and his brothers, Rodrick and Manny stuck at home, that there were times I actually laughed out loud.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is one of those books I wished was published when I was growing up. I have always enjoyed the drawings and the prose with every single issue, but this time it was very well written. This diary is an interesting and humorous book for those who want to relax and enjoy, I would still highly recommend Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series to every kid.

The story starts in mount Olympus where the Greek gods Zeus and Hera were celebrating their son Hercules birthday. Zeus invited his brother hades God of underworld to the event to. Evil hades had intention to rule the world by killing Zeus and becoming the king of the Gods. He goes back to Olympus and asked the three fate about his future. They said after 18 years he must unleashed the Titans when planets aligned to defeat Zeus. But this plan will be useless in case Hercules interfere and stop them.

So Hades decides to kill Hercules and send his minions pain and panic to kill him with potion that makes Hercules mortal. The minions kidnap Hercules immediately from Olympus and give him potion. But Hercules manage not to drink last drop of potion so it’s makes Hercules to have God strength instill. The minions unable to face Hercules and ran away and they informed to Hades that they killed him.

Later Hercules was adopted by a human couple and Hercules biological parents unable to bring Hercules back home because you become completely mortal. When he raised up among human, he looks awkward and dangerous due to his super strength. One fine day, his adopted parents told him the truth that how they found him with the Zeus symbol that hang on his neck when he was baby. With thankful to them Hercules left them in process of finding his real parents and went to Zeus temple.

The story continues. I had a great time reading this book because I had the curiosity to know what will happen next. The imagination that implies in the story is very high because it requires full attention. I would highly recommend this book to everyone because its a good book to be read.

Island Of the Blue Dolphins is about a young Native American girl who was left stranded for 56 years on the island of the Californian coast, it was based on a true story. Karana,the young Native American girl, had to survive on the island with her younger brother whom was later on brutally killed by a pack of feral dogs. Being forced into complete loneliness, Karana had to take on traditionally male tasks such as hunting, making spears and building canoes to fend foe herself. Along the road of loneliness, Karana found friendship with the leader and the son of the feral dog and a young Aleut girl.

The reason why I love this novel is because it was the first time I had connection and felt sympathy towards a character. Karana made me question and understand the fact that human beings cannot live and function in isolation. I was a 10year old girl when I first read this novel; I had finished this novel in just a mere of 3 hours. It as a complete miracle as I was not a bookworm. She took up a lot responsibility and take on the challenges head on. Karana faced a lot challenges living alone ; however, she did not even give up. She kept believing and hoping that someday someone will come and rescue her. She did not even feel one ounce of despair. If I was put in her shoes, I think I would have gone depressed and crazy. I have so much respect for her bravery and determination. I look up to her in all aspects and she taught me many things that even my parents couldn’t instill it to me.

Enid Blyton, born in London was a kindergarten teacher. She was leaning the Froebel and Montessori methods but then soon started writing. Her first book was Child Whispers in 1922. The first Amelia Jane book came up in 1939. When she passed, she left behind a legacy with her books being a holy grail in kids libraries all over the world. Enid Blyton was an inspiration for kids and a wonderful memory for adults. Enid Blyton was one of the most successful writer of the 20th century.

Amelia Jane was a very big and long-legged doll with an “ugly face” and long black curls. She was a very rude doll that had no manners. Her excuse being that she was made at home rather than in a shop like the other toys. Being as big as she was, she was able to tower the other toys so that gives her an advantage. She was always playing tricks on the other toys. Amelia brings terror to the toys in the playroom. This book series follows Amelia Jane and her mischievous attempts.

Growing up, these books taught me so much. Lessons from being kind to respecting others. One of the most prominent lessons I’ve learned from reading this series was that always treat others the way you want to be treated. Amelia Jane was a doll that could never stay good for more than a week. She would always play tricks on them and get them in trouble. Almost every time, someone gets hurt. Despite being told so many times, Amelia still continues on with her mischiefs. No matter how naughty Amelia Jane has been, the other toys continue to forgive her.

Food elicits many different reactions in people. Some people are drawn by taste, of course. Others, however, might be tempted by its smells and visual appearance.

For thousands of years, people have sought not only to make food taste better, but great strides also have been made in making food smell and look better. After all, no one wants to eat something that doesn’t look appetizing!

It’s one thing to make a plate of spaghetti visually appealing. It’s a whole other matter, however, to turn it into a true work of art. People who dedicate their time to turning edibles into visuals are often called food artists.

The cool night breeze, Rustles the tree leaves. Crickets sing beside a creek, That runs past the house. A moth flutters beside me, A stray cat stirs. The sky is golden, And the stars start to shine. The air is warm, An airplane soars past. A wish is made, That summer will last.

I wonder why when you say goodbye beautiful colours paint the sky. Shades of orange, yellow and pink too all come out because of you. And although I hate to see you go, I really do enjoy the show. I've seen you leave so many times and still it's a favourite sight of mine. There'll be no sadness, be no sorrow because my sun, you'll come out tomorrow. I won't feel hurt, I'll feel no pain because on your way down, your colours will reign.

Holi, known as the ‘festival of colors’ is celebrated on the full moon day falling in the month of Phalguna (Feb-Mar). Various colors and water are thrown on each other, amidst loud music, drums etc to celebrate Holi. Like many other festivals in India, Holi also signifies a victory of good over evil. As per ancient mythology, there is a legend of King Hiranyakashipu with who Holi is associated.

Earlier, Holi colors used to be made from flowers of ‘tesu’ or ‘palash’ tree and known as gulal. The colors used to be very good for skin as no chemicals were used to make these. But amidst of all definitions of festivals, the definition of colors for sure have changed with time. Today people have started using harsh colors made from chemicals. Even fast colors are used to play Holi, which are bad and that is why many people avoid celebrating this festival. We should enjoy this age old festival with the true spirit of festivity.
