(key story) ep08. i am a fashion director (key who transformed into a director)

sorry, i returned after a long time, right ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ
as you might know, i’ve been very busy from filming for ‘drinking solo’ to concert and album preparations.
anyway, i’m back!
today i’ll talk about a story slightly different from the usual.
a lot of people already know i’m interested in clothes but i thought that they probably didn’t know i have actually directed performance costumes (not television ones but concert costumes!)
today i’ll show you bits of the costume preparation process of the concert that took place not too long ago.
first of all, i had several meetings with the director (shim jae won) wherein we discussed the song order, lighting setting, the costumes, about the overall concert concept and stage! i basically lived in sum cafe for a while.
moreover, several concepts formulate in my mind. and then i look for a suitable designer. today i’ll reveal a bit of the collaboration process with two designers,
first, it’s a brand called charm’s! it’s a brand that is pop but with wit, i thought it suited shinee well.
for cool but cute songs such as ‘black hole’ ‘odd eye’ rather than outfits with a lot of wit, i tried to convey a story by taking it into a direction where a happy medium could be retained.
in this manner, the illustration is received the material is consulted and members who will wear what outfit (these drawings were sent to the five at the same time and decided by their replies in order of arrival!) altered the parts that required revision.
tada we wore it on the stage like this!
next is kye han hee designer from a brand called kye~
actually, this is a concept that designer kye han wee’s collection showcases, i felt that if i could express the five members as monsters (?) or zombies it’d be cute. i made them after i received opinions from the members.
minho: i want a zombie that’s wearing a tuxedo in soccer shoes and it’s not treading with a soccer ball but with a heart it’d be nice if it’s tied down haha background as a ground with people in the back who are all zombies too ㅋㅋㅋ
if things holding it down could look like this omg (picture)
it’d also be great if it’s carrying a cane ㅋㅋㅋ

as for the background zombies i think it’ll be simply done because it’s hand drawn

since they explained it in great detail i captured it.
moreover, based on members’ opinions it was personally drawn by hand like this then passed through digital work to make the outfits!
this was how the styling process was communicated, the actual styling turned out to be slightly different but conversations materialize through these diagrams..
tada! the actual styling was done this way.
also, based on my (^^) opinion to use bridge ship house illustrator’s drawings, the members from this drawing were picked and expressed through outfits~
as a result, a meaningful project like this was conjured!
even in the future, i plan on participating in more fun projects so look forward to it!
as ‘elle’ guest editor writing an article after a long time has given me new emotions! i’ll wrap it up here see you next time!
