Seraphic Lights gig post by your’s truly
Cool poster, cool bands... wish I were in town to catch it.
Toronto band Ruthless Ones playing The Cage Wednesday night. Super fun set and they had someone from the audience come up on stage and read some poetry (?smut according to their facebook page?) to start it off.
Photos of London area band, The Offensive Senses, playing at The Cage 292 Wednesday night. Check them out on facebook and find their EP for download.

This is my first ever gif! Any feedback is appreciated of course.
The record playing is the Mountain Goats' All Hail West Texas
Alt-J and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club make for a much improved commute from work.
4:30 am comes way too fast.
Last night at The Rehearsal Factory, I did a little bit of a shoot with the boys from Draft. Their very first EP is being released on Friday the 13th and it'll be one helluva night.
Drop by The 460 on Spadina on the 13th.
I mentioned vinyl... This is another record I'm stoked to listen to
Typhoon
I've been wrapped up in life... Kept shooting at The Cage over the last month while dealing with four moves in 2 weeks and everything that goes with my second job (and school) starting again for September. All that lead to no time to post new photos, especially while I was lacking Internet for a while. Anyway, on a lark I entered a contest on Facebook a little while ago and completely forgot about it. Today I found out I won tickets to the Typhoon show next Tuesday, as well as their new record White Lighter. It's a non-traditional pressing too, the vinyl looks gorgeous and I can't wait to play it. Look out for a few photos late next week, thanks to MapleMusic!
Today is a Prairie Wind and Fully Completely kind of day.
The Band is one of my favourite bands of all time. This song is also one of my favourite of all time. Makes it about 100x better that they’re Canadian. Here we are in Canada, singing a song by a Canadian band, on a 28 of Canadian, wearing red and white. Outside of a moose and an igloo - it don’t get more Canadian than this.
Fantastic rendition of a great song. Here's to Canadian music, and here's to Canada!
Last summer I saw these guys, Murder By Death, play at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Sarah, the cellist, is incredibly passionate (and the inclusion of the cello is one of the reasons I love the music) and everyone just pulls together to create such a cohesive performance. Adam, who has a surprisingly deep voice, is also an incredibly down to earth guy. Chatting with him for a while after the show made my cousin's day.
Anyway here's the video for "As Long As There Is Whiskey In the World" off of my favourite album of theirs, Good Morning Magpie.
I'm swamped with school work but I just wanted to put on record that singing along with The Lumineers' encore performance at Edgefest, in the pouring rain, was an incredible experience. Mother Mother and Monster Truck were pretty fucking wicked too.
Hey! I'm headed to Edgefest shortly. Won't be able to take post worthy pics since SLRs aren't allowed and I don't have a compact digital cam, but c'est la vie, right? In the meantime, you can check out Facebook.com/photographsbymiranda to see photos of last week's Hardcore Wednesday at The Cage 292. If you're in TO and don't have plans tonight, check out this week's lineup there at 9.
