I can not believe I am opening this document again after over two years

In April of 2020, I ran a simple survey online asking people how they were doing in the wake of everything. In May of 2022, I ran an equivalent survey to see how everyone was feeling two years later. Over two years after that, now feels like an appropriate time to check in again.

How are you doing today? What are you thinking about? Is anything upsetting you? Do you have anything to celebrate? How do you think you'll be doing in the future?

I made a 70-minute long tribute to Escam, ScribbleShrimp’s story about meat.

Despite its unfortunate premature ending, Escam is a story that means so so much to me, and in an attempt to create something just as meaningful, I’ve spent the past few months working on a video essay detailing my thoughts about it, and explaining my deeply personal relationship to this series of TikToks. Whether you used to be a diehard Escam fan, or if you’ve never heard of it at all, I hope you can still appreciate the video nonetheless. It is called Escam: A Eulogy, and it is out now.

don't feel pressured to do so at all, but do you think you'll ever post escam again? (even if it's not on tiktok)

I want to archive all the original posts on ao3 at some point and give it the proper ending and conclusion I wrote, but it might take awhile. Ive been very busy and honestly that series is a weird cumulation of all my teenage angst which is hard to reread. Plus a lot of the writing and character conversations come off as shallow and inauthentic in hindsight. I will likely end up rewriting a lot of it if I ever do go back. But I’ll definitely attempt to finish it for those who are invested, I can’t stand incomplete stories.

(On that note, I’ll finish my stupid Batman and tma fics I started when I was in highschool as well lmfao. Can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I updated either. I’ll get to them eventually….)

Sorry! I am a liar. But I think some stories are better off unfinished anyways.

On the bright side a really cool woman apparently has it all archived on like, paper??? Which is insane to me. @elspagoot If you ask her nicely maybe she will be able to give you a pdf or something (no promises though!) It’s funny, I was genuinely about to permanently delete my account earlier this week and then boom…hour long video talking about it. I guess I’ll always leave it on that app. For internet archival reasons. Thank you to anyone who still finds value in that story!

If anyone is desperate for any slice of new Escam content, then it’s not coming. At least for a very very very long time. But I have a small project that I’ve been working on for myself somewhat related. Might post it here one day. No promises though.

But yes, I have probably the only physical copy of Escam out there! It took a week of sleepless nights to type it all up but I’m very happy I did so!
