Unarmed Black Man With Hands Up Shot By Police.

Charles Kinsey, 47, a behavior therapist from South Florida was shot in the leg three times by the police in North Miami while laying on the ground with his arms up and trying to help his patient with autism who had run away from a group home.

It all started when someone called 911 and said there was a man walking around with a gun. However it was Kinsey’s patient who was sitting on the ground cross-legged, playing with a toy truck.

Charles got shot by police despite telling them he was only trying to help his patient.

The police shot him, handcuffed him and left him on ground bleeding.

North Miami police have not released much information at all. They haven’t released the officer’s name, they haven’t given us an update on the investigation. However, they did say that the state attorney is now a part of this investigation.

That he blames himself and feels guilty for not being able to save him, the way he loathes himself, how he made up a wrong memory even to deal with the loss, how he can’t move on, sees Cas on the road, sees him standing in front of the motel. And then two seasons later Dean sees Castiel again. Sees him when he is looking in the mirror and feels even worse than the first time around, because this time his guilt and self loathing has a place and a reason not like before. And just…. yes, it kills me. It really really does.

Okay. I’m 42. I’ve been writing for years, but the only things I’ve ever published are works of fanfiction. I wrote eight original novels before I ever tried my hand at fanfic. I was told by agents and publishers that my stories were fantastic, that I shouldn’t have any trouble finding an agent or getting them published… by someone else. Everyone was so sure the “right” agent or publisher was out there for me, it just didn’t happen to be them, personally.

I have watched my female writer friends struggle to get published traditionally, push to get any sort of recognition in a ridiculously saturated market. And even after being successfully published they still needed to work full-time in order to make ends meet. It was so depressing to me that I stopped writing. Stopped trying to get my novels published entirely. For two years.

Then I was reminded why I’d started writing in the first place. I LIKE it. It’s FUN. It makes me HAPPY. Well, then. Maybe if I stopped thinking of writing in terms of something horrible (like what my venture into traditional publishing became for me, a capitalistic nightmare inferiority complex), I could bring a little of the joy back into it. So I started writing fanfic and posting it online for my fellow fans to share.

And that has brought all the joy, all the fun, and all the happiness back into writing for me.

And as someone who IS in their 40′s, let me tell you how stinking RARE AND WONDERFUL that is. Finding something you enjoy doing for fun that can also maybe make a bunch of complete strangers happy as well? WELL THAT IS AN ABSOLUTE GIFT IN THIS FUCKED UP WORLD, MY FRIEND.

Anyone who belittles these small creations of pure love of a thing that are being shared FOR FREE, for no other reason than to spread happiness around, FOR FREE, well, you really need to examine why the fuck you hate happiness so much, you soggy bitter prune.
