But Clarisse was the one who found him; disoriented, confused, eyes flaked with insanity, wandering near her mother’s house. Despite everyone at camp being mad at him for being a traitor, she didn’t see the traitor in him; she saw Chris. Her Chris. The one she’d known for years, who’d been her best friend and supporter in camp before anyone else. She cared enough to take him back to camp, and to not leave his side during the times everyone else would’ve left him to rot.

Apparently, according to Hellanikos of Lesbos, Chrysippos was Pelops's son from a previous marriage rather than an illegitimate child as in the usual tradition. Not sure if that makes the whole intrafamilial strife surrounding him better or worse, since this is one of the accounts where Hippodameia and her sons plot his death so that he will not inherit his father's throne.

Doubt people who just wanna see art from me will read this, I am planning a Pelops comic. Which it will focus on Poseidon and on their relationship, kinda how they met, the whole tantalus story. That is being written down right now. But it is on the back burner for now cause I'm currently doing the The Devoured Year OCT which is the reason why I have made up my mind on making a comic. Anyway really excited to work on that!

“I can’t believe this character from Greek mythology was considered a hero even tho he did horrible things!” The word hero back then didn’t mean someone noble, it just meant someone important, usually a demigod or a descendant from gods.

I’m so sick and tired of these retelling writers being all high and mighty saying “omg they won’t tell you this! But Theseus/Heracles/most Trojan war figures did horrible things!” Like no shit? The Ancient Greeks didn’t act like it was some secret, they’re the ones who wrote down all these heroes flaws. Greek heroes doing bad things isn’t a bug it’s a feature, they’re supposed to simultaneously represent the best and worst of humanity. This isn’t some grand scheme of the big bad patriarchy trying to whitewash these heroes to make them look better, often times these heroes get horribly punished as karma for their actions.

It just goes to show these authors haven’t done the most basic research.
