Marcus sighed, her smile somehow making everything a little better.  She was here, and she was safe, and she was happy.  That meant it had been a good day’s work, right?  

He flushed slightly at hero comment, at a loss for words. Sure, he’d acted in self-defense, but there had been a body involved earlier today.  “A hero,” he said bashfully, “that’s me,” he added dryly.

“You’re getting married, Marcus, not manning a revolution.” Although he knew it was still necessary to keep the security quite tight for them all during the event, still he wanted to make sure that these two important people in his and Sydney’s life get all the fun that they deserved. 

“I am doing it. C’mon, I promised Ro I’ll throw you an awesome party.” And steal snapshots worthy for blackmail material, but he didn’t mention that. “I’ll be standing right next to you while blindfolded so you can like crash my foot if you like.”

Marcus took a defensive stance behind his desk, running his hand over a stack up folders.  “I’m well aware, Adrian.  I’ve been engaged for nearly three years now, remember?”  Marcus understood Adrian meant well - he usually did - but he was busy tonight.  He wanted this office in top shape so that he wouldn’t spend his entire honeymoon dreading unpacking.  

“You promised Rowena?”  A realization dawned on him, and he groaned loudly, rolling his eyes.  “Is she still worried that I’m going to turn myself into a workaholic and not have any fun?  I know how to have fun,” he declared, pointing his finger at Adrian.  “Just because I bought a pair of khakis and a tie doesn’t mean that I’m going to revert back to my uptight, Alchemist self.” 

Marcus glowered at him.  “Don’t you dare put that blindfold on me, Adrian.”
