âAwwwâŚ. come here, Domino,â he teased the kitten gently with a feather as it rolled around. Ever since he realized Frey and Jamie had been hiding a cat in their dormitory, he had taken every chance he could get to coax the cutie out of hiding. It approached curiously, reaching out to bat the feather a few times. After a minute or two of teasing the kitten, Lest put aside the feather and picked her up gently in both hands. âUpsie daisy, now! While your owners are out Domino, howâs about going on a trip?âÂ
âArenât you tired of being cooped up in here all the time?â It wasnât like this was the first time he took the cat out⌠it just looked a little stuffy staying in the dorms all day and night. He could empathize, sincerely. He brought the cat up to his face and pouted playfully. It meowed and put a paw on his face in response, and he couldnât help but widen his starry eyes. He gasped gently at the touch, as amusement danced over his face. âI have been blessed.â
âThat settles it. I, Sir Lest Pastforiere, will take you where ever you please!â Lest set the kitten in a gym bag and strolled off to the front of the dorms. And that was pretty much it. Haha. âOkay, just kidding, your highness. We canât go far from home, alright? So this is as far as I can take you.â
He watched carefully as Domino popped its head out of the gym bag. One paw out. And then the other. When all four touched the ground, she made a break for itâ A fluff ball of a lightning bolt. He could feel his heart jump to his throat, before willing himself to calm down. âWhâ Hey! DominoâŚÂ Get back here!âÂ
Lestâs dashed his heart out, praying for his legs to take off like the wind. And then there was a blur of blonde that obtruded his line of sight. Luckily, he could keep himself level headed, even at a time like this. âExcuse meâ Sorry!â He swerved smoothly, right before he could hit the kid in a full body collision, and kept running. Turning his head to salute the kid, he tossed out an apologetic smile. âSorryâ! The catâs out of the bag.â
He kept dashing further and further away from the dorm grounds. Though Lest had turned his head away, he called out into the wind to address the kid directly. âIâll be back! Donât tell the teach, okay?âÂ
With Juliaâs constant... Shenanigans, Markâs life was hardly ever dull. But normally if she wasnât around, he could count on having a semi-boring day at least. After all, trouble didnât follow him personally. He was sure of it. It just followed the people he hung around.
... So maybe actually he followed trouble instead? Oh...
Still. Generally speaking, abnormal things donât just happen around him unless heâs gone looking for it. Or inviting it in, sort of like a vampire. So when heâs minding his own business, out on campus, and something that kind of looks like a ball of fluff? darts between his legs, he freezes. Before he can even process, heâs nearly slammed into by another student -- but smooooothly, the peril is barely avoided.
The catâs out of the bag? Oh, so thatâs what that was! No wonder he had an immediate urge to want to grab it. Mark watches the student pursue the tiny ball of fluff, before deciding... Well, he really liked cats. And besides, nobody on Earth has ever caught a cat that was running from them by themselves. It was like a law of the Universe. Cats are just smarter than humans.
âWait up!â he calls out, sprinting to catch up and suddenly feeling very thankful his backpack wasnât full of 30lb textbooks today. âIf we work together you can get it back faster!â
