I'm gonna be totally blunt here and say that I just really don't think tme people can ever truly understand just how liberating it can feel for a transfem person to put on a skirt or a dress for the first time. Like almost all my trans man, transmasc, and afab nonbinary friends basically never changed their wardrobe after coming out, and some of them were already dressing the way they wanted before they even realized that they weren't cis.

Meanwhile you talk to literally any transfem and I guarantee they will tell you that at some point in their life even looking at a skirt was enough to send them into a dysphoric spiral because of just how ingrained the idea of an amab person wearing feminine clothes is seen as funny, perverted, or disgusting is in our society.

Like "clothes don't equal gender" and "do whatever the fuck you want" just doesn't ring the same when you are transmisogynized

I dont crave wearing skirts as much as I used to, but it was such an amazing experience.

It makes me sad when videos tell young trans girls that the skirt is a mistake. They can discover if they like it or not themselves. Im thankful for my "mistakes" with my outfits, because they helped me feel like me.

Ill forever have to work extra hard every morning and night to be seen as a woman. Or even see a woman in the mirror.

I wish I could wake up and have a lazy day without needing to shave, or do makeup or whatever.

This is just how its gonna be, but its sad to think this might be the case for a hell of a long time. If not till I die.
