I love when characters scream each other's names in panic, helplessly watching as someone they care about gets hurt or dragged away or threatened.
brainwashing tropes are fantastic and I love a deep POV whumpee fighting against their own mind but I just had a vision of the team, weapons raised against a feral opponent wearing the face of their friend, turning towards caretaker/leader/whoever knows them best. "you're the only one they'll listen to. Tell them to stand down."
caretakers with hoarse, pleading voices, hands raised in surrender. "it's me, you know me! why are we fighting? you don't want to hurt us!"
leaders who hate their authority, commanding a firm, no-nonsense tone. "weapons down, Whumpee. that's an order."
brawn characters, arms outstretched, speaking plainly. "come on. y'know i don't want to hurt you, but I will if I have to."
the rest of the team waits with bated breath. if this doesn't work, blood will be spilled. their last hope of getting Whumpee back relies on one character's words. that tense, pleading standoff, conflict in their eyes.
does it work? or does it take a fight to wake their friend from the nightmare?
I like the idea that there's simply no hesitation in disabling whumpee, because the team and Leader know that they'd rather be critically injured than cause critical injury to the team.
There's guilt afterwards, everyone questions that decision, but recovering whumpee firmly supports Leader's decision to shoot them 5 times in the body and then choke them out manually when they didn't go down fast enough.
Whumpee maintains this support through their recovery from trauma surgery to survive bleeding and pneumothorax, and through the subsequent infection and fever. It's the only thing that eases their own guilt, the knowledge that both they are suffering for it and that the damage could have been so much worse.
They thank Leader for it time and time again, holding tight to their hand as they lie trembling and bandaged and struggling to breathe.
That one traumatic scene in a Disney show
i post about #true colors way too much

this was i think my second amphibia post ever (i got into it right before s3 dropped)?? which is crazy?????? but yeah much like every artist in the amphibia fandom, olivia & yunan sparked me creatively in ways that have rarely been replicated since. normally i am NOT able to pump something like this out in a day, but somehow that’s how soon after the episode dropped i finished it 💀💀
this one is old obviously (predates me switching from tablet drawing to ipad drawing, even) but i don’t hate to look at it like i usually do for old stuff. that being said i still reeeaallly want to redraw it. i remember having tons of fun with it and being really happy with it at the time, even though it pushed my limits

new binkless au fic up :3
Do you think Marcy could perform surgery on herself? 👀
funnily enough i have. addressed this topic before actually help. im so normal
but despite the events of dear shadow which involves her doing things such as cutting a tracking device out of her arm and doing her own stitches... i think thats the very farthest she could go with it. actual surgery? hell naw.
i have however considered darcy doing stuff to marcys body... installing cybernetics and such. its too robotic and inhuman to care about the pain or be bothered by the bloodiness of it.
and ermmm heres this thing
Darcy damaging Marcy's body when they realize they're losing, breaking her spine. If they can't use this body, no one will.
hey remember that sketch i drew based on that fic i wrote based on @darcycoreverse? yeah i colored it instead of writing the essay that’s due in 20 minutes.
The whumper wasn’t needlessly cruel- the whumpee was their experiment, and they didn’t want any outside influences to affect their results. The whumpee was left in a lonely, sterile room, one they’d come to hate as they kept coming back after countless “experiments” which left them bloodied and afraid of what would come next.
I had the wildest dream today 😭 I dreamt about Marcy somehow outsmarting Andrias and convincing him she wasn't a good host for the Core (she was too physically weak to do any fighting + she was too young and her brain underdeveloped, wouldn't the host prefer a fully developed host?) and he's like Fine, if you don't want to become the host, go find me a proper one. And he releases her and she has to find someone else to take her place, while he keeps Olivia and Yunan hostage. And now I'm thinking about whether or not it would be a good premise for a fanfic.
Harsh reality might break you into pieces
Do y'all think Anne and Sasha ever saw Marcy's chest scar? Like obviously if we're thinking about sashannarcy they'll see each other nakey eventually, but I'm talking before that, like do you think she needed help changing clothes or bathing at first because everything hurt So Much do you think she refused to go to the beach or the pool because wearing a swimming suit would show too much do you think she never wanted to change in front of her friends again after what happened. What I mean is, have they seen the extent of the damage? Is it something Marcy actively hides from them?
i mean given that she had to change clothes between getting freed from the core and the hardest thing i assume they saw it then... but i loveeee the idea that she might try to hide it from them. its her own fault it happened and she doesnt need their pity after all... and so she insists on changing where they cant see (maybe olivia is the one to actually help her change bc i love newtmoms). however since she ends up in the hospital afterwards and hospital gowns dont do a great job at covering your back...they definitely find out then i think.
I love the idea of them maybe forgetting about the scars because there's so much going on and they're just happy she's alive but then they're in the hospital and she turns around and they see this huge red angry burn scar along her spine and they just feel the universe lose two layers of reality
oughhh yeah just like. god they were both there when it happened but they thought it had healed better than that...they never were close enough to see the actual wound...they had no way of understanding exactly what she went through with her injuries that day. (what concerns them even more than the stab wound scar are the implanted ports and surgical scars along her limbs and even her spine right on top of the scar down her back... what on earth happened to her while she was a prisoner before she was given to the core?)
Oh god those are definitely harder to hide. If you want to hide a scar on your back and chest just throw on a t-shirt and you're done, but kid will be wearing hoodies and jeans and fingerless gloves during summer in LA, going with her besties to the beach to read under an umbrella while they splash around in the water. People think she's a self-conscious teenage girl and they're not wrong but no one could imagine the extent of her insecurities. Even when she's free her body is still not her own. Forever marked by them.
tbh the scars wouldnt be the only reason for her to avoid swimming... she was kept in a claustrophobic glass tank of water for weeks on end. whether or not she fully remembers that it certainly bubbles up in her memories when shes taking a bath or swimming and that is not fun for her
