Okay guys here's the hat theory explained.

Basically Zendaya pulled up to a red carpet with a giant hat on that just looked insanely goofy.

Basically, people on tiktok took this and made a fake conspiracy theory meme that the hat is some entity that needs a host. They make conspiracy theory videos and horror movie trailers about it, and Zendaya has actually addressed it a few times. Zendaya is its host right now. However, there have been previous hosts (like Abraham Lincoln, Michael Jackson, the monopoly guy, and Naya Rivera). The hat makes their host become like a darker version of themselves😭

When it comes to Naya Rivera, the hat tried to make the entire Glee cast become its new hosts while filming the Britney episode, but it only worked on Naya Rivera. After Naya had been the hat's host for a while, Grant Gustin tried to save her by telling her that she had been struck by a smooth criminal (the smooth criminal being the hat) and throwing a slushy in her face. Then, Naya passed the hat onto Zendaya who is the hat's current host.

The whole Unique bathroom thing was probably fueled by a lot of unintentional racism too. Especially when you look back at season one of Glee; there is a scene where Kurt gets slushied and then goes into the girls bathroom to clean up and no one has a problem with it. When Unique wants to use the girls bathroom, people perceive her as a threat when she is just minding her own business. They perceive her as more masculine than Kurt because she is black, but she is objectively much more feminine presenting than him.

This would have been an interesting thing for the writers to have touched on, although given past gl-incidents I don't know if I trust them to do it with enough tact.

well i finished the series like two weeks ago but i just went and rewatched that scene and...
