The majority loves the kind, good and sweet Gideon, but i preferred Gabriel since clockwork angel.

I don't know why, but i always love Gabriel even though he was the "bully" of Will. I've loved the character since the beginning. To me, he was so funny, and i love his crush on Cecily. He is such an underrated character.

i think the thing about batman's no kill rule is that its essentially bruce saying "guilty people don't deserve to be murdered on the street either, actually." and he's not wrong.

#batman's no kill rule has so many good layers and so few people want to engage with it beyond 'I think it's dumb'#and that includes actual batman writers who have given the stupidest reasons for its existence#like there's the logistical level#if batman starts killing then he is going to have more problems dealing with the law and public opinion than he already has#then there's the personal checks and balances level#bruce is already a fuckoff wealthy genius if he starts killing that's an additional layer of power he has to trust himself with#i think there are similar reasons behind why he never tries to take public office or start his own 'criminal' syndicate to push out others#so THAT is the level where it works as a cautionary 'don't become like them' thing because bruce is already too powerful#and too fixated on controlling things. if he gives himself additional leeway to take more power & control he's gonna lose it#like someone who knows they've got an addictive personality refusing to even touch cigarettes or slot machines because haha NO#then there's the ethical level of people don't deserve to be killed on the street#and also batman specifically doesn't *want* to kill#like yeah maybe in the moment he gets mad enough at the joker or someone that he could kill them#but in general part of the whole reason he does this is because he doesn't want people to die he wants them to get help#and in a super hero and villains universe part of meeting ppl where they're at is putting on a costume and solving their death puzzle

When I was a barely-verbal toddler, probably between 1.5 to 2.5 years old, my mom was giving me a stern (by toddler levels) speech about what I did was bad and I shouldn't do it again (probably something like trying to put a finger in an electrical socket based on my toddler skills at putting myself in danger).

In Portuguese, when scolding a toddler we usually say something like "Nâo não não! Muito feio! Não pode!" (literally, "No, no no! Very ugly [thing to do]! Not allowed!".

So there my mom was, being serious and I'm calmly listening to the scolding. As soon as she finished, I grabbed her face with both my hands and, smiling wide, said "Linda!" (Pretty!).

It's been over 30 years since that happened and she still cackles about it every time she tells the story.

it is hilarious to me that cishet men have yet to notice the ‘best friend cockblocking her friend you’re chatting up in a public place’ thing is planned, consensual on the part of the girl you’re uncomfortably hitting on and not a result of the bestie being jealous her friend is getting more male attention. they’re completely oblivious to the hostage eyes and silent nod to someone in the background because they’re too busy telling that poor girl about what a bitch their ex was.

My rule of thumb with cooking and picky eaters is that I'm fine with people being picky, but I'm not ok with people lying about it. So if you've got a long list of things you can't or won't eat, give me the list, and I'm fine with cooking by it. Like literally just write a google docs with all your Yucky Ingredients on it and I can find a way to cook with whatever's left that isn't on the list.

But if you go "no I'm fine with anything it's ok I'll eat it :)" when I ask you what you will and won't eat, and once the food is on the table then you go "ew yuck it has Bad Ingredient, I can't eat this :(" I'm going to beat you with a frying pan.
