Digital study of colors and shapes. I chose this picture of Beverly Crusher. I wanted to practice painting hair shapes more easily and quicker and be able to replicate it later without guessing, but with a set technique. The color dots on the sides are the colors for the skin and hair. I used the same brush for all of it. I do it once a week, so more coming in the following weeks.

As promised, here is my first video of my inking process. 🔅What I learned from doing this for the first time: 1- My phone does not have enough space whatsoever, a video of 1 min took over 1gb!!! 2- Instagram only accepts 1 min, so I edited over 15 min into this, however, my phone wouldn’t accept the MP4 file Instagram requires, so I had to film my IPad running the video. 🔅Please, if you have more info about exporting files from Premiere to the IPhone, let me know, I’m still learning. 😣 🇧🇷 Como prometido, aqui está meu primeiro vídeo do meu processo de tinta. 🔅 O que eu aprendi fazendo isso pela primeira vez: 1- Meu celular não tem espaço suficiente, um vídeo de 1 minuto usou 1gb 2- Instagram aceita apenas 1 min de vídeo e o meu original tinha 15 mina e tive de editar, no entanto, meu IPhone não aceita o arquivo MP4 que o Instagram requer, então eu tive que filmar meu IPad rodando o vídeo. 🔅Por favor, se você tiver mais informações sobre a exportação de arquivos do Premiere para o IPhone, avise-me, ainda estou aprendendo. 😣 . . . #instavideo #videoprocess #inkingprocess #inkillustration #inkingart #inkportrait #africanwoman #seattleartist #seattleart #processvideo #inkartwork #nanquim #drawingvideo #artistprocess #artebrasil #brasileira #artebrasileira #brazilart #artvideo #inkingvideo #africandesign

Look what I found from 2013! (while on the #imaginism in-House workshop in Toronto) It's a scan of the pencil drawing. I remember it was a practice to draw mainly with shapes using value and try to use lines. Tribal vampire. Looking innocent and childish enough until you get closer and then you're dead. The last one is trying to see how a really curly hair would work as a shape around her hair. I finally went back to working with shapes and outfits, and it.was.fun! With this drawing I really feel like I grew a lot as an artist these last months, I’ve been constantly drawing things out of my comfortable zone, and now I have illustrations that I never imagined I would have, and every time I look at my ink sketchbook I smile. It’s all thanks to my awesome art friends’ encouragement to continue with ink and it’s important to me because it’s the only time each week I get to draw just for myself, I spent 3 years without drawing that much and without any enjoyment, and now I can say it’s officially over! Woop woop!
