The carpathia is the ship that came to the titanics aid, distress signals were sent out and heard by two ships; the RMS carpathia and the SS California.

California was 20 miles away, and carpathia was 58 miles away. For some unknown to this day reason, the distress signals were ignored by the California, when she could have been there in 45 minutes at top speed.

The carpathia however, responded. The radio operator insisted on waking captain Arthur Henry Rostron, who ordered all his crew out of bed to prepare the carpathia for an extra 2000 passengers.

The carpathia did something that is most commonly described as diverting all power from life support, which means taking power from heating, cooling, luxury’s, and putting it to speed to get to the titanic as fast as possible.

The carpathia got there in 3 hours when it should have taken 4. She was going at 17 knots when she’s meant to go at 15 knots, by all means she should have exploded.

Upon arriving at the titanics location, they only saw life boats, the titanic had sunk 2 hours ago.

Despite the crew preparing for 2000 extra passengers, they could barely handle the 700 that made it.

Many passengers aboard the carpathia gave up their rooms, blankets, and even extra clothes to the freezing survivors, but still many had to huddle up in the ships commons.

The carpathia docked in New York on April 18, four days after the titanic went down on the 14th. At the port the titanic was heading to but never made it
