I have trouble understanding sobriety. I have tried and tried and tried to understand how you can be happy and content sober. But it fails for me. I give up on finding an answer that feels nonexistent. And because I give up, I pick up. Telling someone not to do heroin isn’t going to stop them from doing it. Telling kids “don’t do drugs” isnt going to stop them. Telling them that they’ll lose their soul, their mind, and their will to live without it will. Telling them that heroin or any drug will be their only way to survive, their only reason to wake up in the morning. That everything will revolve around it and nothing and no one else will matter. They themselves will not matter. - Drugs are a manipulation of the mind and that’s what most don’t realize.

seriously fuck telling kids “don’t do drugs”. show them what it’s like, tell them about the withdrawals, tell them about how they won’t be able to get out of bed, how they’re bones won’t stop aching, they’ll be throwing up, and shitting themselves. tell them about how so many people OD on drugs. tell them about how some people end up in the ER because of withdrawals and they can’t stop screaming and crying. dont just tell them not to do it. show them what it’s like to stop, tell them about the withdrawals.
