“Turn on the Light” Spell

A simple spell to find happiness in trying times.

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

You will need:

A lighter

A sigil for happiness (x) (x) (x) (x)

Steps:

Prepare yourself for the spell. Ground yourself, create a witchy atmosphere, get yourself in the right mindset, or anything else you do to prepare.

On your lighter, draw your happiness sigil.

Imagine golden light pouring into the lighter, filling it with cheerful, positive energy. Chant: “times are dark, all things good seem far away, but once this lighter flickers on, happiness is here to stay”

Now, whenever you turn on your lighter, you have ‘turned on a light’ and activated the spell, drawing happiness to you.

so, beltane is here! i want to wish you all witches happy beltane, i hope you’ll have fun today! but, as we know, no sabbat is complete without a ritual. worry not, i got your back! it’s something mine, so if you use it make sure to like and/or reblog this post, and tell me how it worked!

you will need:

salt

cleansed water

incense(rose/jasmin/ylang/peach/vanilla)

crystals(malachite, garnet, rose quartz, emerald, tourmaline)

a yellow candle

a green candle

a white candle

milk and honey/flowers

how to:

firstly, cast a circle. if you do not know how, check out my post on how to cast a circle or watch an informative video! there are tons of them in youtube.

relax. take time to breathe, concentrate, connect with the earth underneath you.

meditate with the crystals you’ve gathered.

when you’re ready, say this out loud:

“ beltane has come

spring is at it’s peak

nature is blooming

and the skies are clear

may summer come

and bring the best out of us

may the sun shine brightly

upon the earth

and upon our hearts

may the universe bless us

with the best of luck

and help us get through

our dark days

happy beltane!

welcome summer!

welcome brighter days!

and blessed be!”

while saying this bit, light up the candles in the order green|yellow|white.

after that, meditate a little more. imagine summer coming, the weather becoming warmer, the flowers blooming, the nature being reborn.

when you’re ready, it’s best to do an offering, to the fae, the universe, or whatever god/goddess you’d like!

for the offering(optional):

mix the honey with the milk

say this while saying this:

“i offer you this gift

as a sign of my gratitude

and respect

please, universe/fae

bring to us

a prosperous summer

and blessed be”

after saying this, throw the milk and honey into a garden or a flower pot.

after finishing off, close the circle and thank the universe and the fae.

and that’s it! now you’re ready to spend a delightful beltane! make sure to eat loads of delicious food and dance a lot!

Money attraction spell

Note: I used this to get some fallback cash, but you can change the spell for your personal stuff if you need to.

Ingredients:

3 pinches of salt (the salt is to protect the satchet)

Mint (I associate mint with money)

Rosemary (for me, rosemary is great for sending out energy)

A sigil or two (I used one for success and another for getting money)

A satchet (I used a white one because that was the only one I had on hand)

String (Any color works)

Please add/take away any ingredients to fit your spell!

Instructions:

(This is the order I put them in)

1) Put the salt in first.

2) Put the mint in second.

3. Put the rosemary in third.

4) Put the sigil/s in last.

5) Tie the satchet together with three knots from the string. These can be as complicated or as simple as you like.

As I put the ingredients in, I just stated their use to (for me, personally) activate them. Here’s basically what I said:

“Salt to protect this satchet from harm,

Mint to provide me with money,

Rosemary for heightening the spell,

And sigils to guide my intention.

This is my will, so it is done.”

Why Choose Acturian Academy?

There have been attempts at academies like ours in the past which have failed due to poor planning, rude and inaccessible staff, and drama. Acturian Academy mentors and staff have been professionally trained in conflict-resolutions and crisis management training. (These certificates are on file with the academy, if you would like to see them please message Ambrose Ophelia (@nyx-witch on Tumblr)). Mentors must also have a semester’s worth of their classes finished and scheduled before they are added to our list of classes. (All mentors currently listed have syllabi available for their classes, which will be provided on the first day of classes. If you would like to see one prior to class start, please message the same mentor listed.) We aim to have a fun, safe, and drama-free environment providing education!

Mission Statement of the Academy

Acturian Academy was created to fulfil a need that our creator, administrator, and fellow mentor, Ellie saw. Those of us who have joined the academy as mentors agree with the growing needs of witchcrafts online community when we look out we see a community that’s closed off, not bringing anything new, and is hard to traverse as a beginner at any age. Here at the Academy, we are attempting to take the obstacles away.

Our main goal is to provide gathered and softly guided information on different aspects of the craft. We are not a religion based school but we do wish to encourage spiritual growth. We hope that those who join the academy walk away with plenty of resources and that, when the time is right for them, are fully prepared to practice and personalize their own craft.

The academy name is so much more than a name. This academy name is a badge that is supposed to represent honour and education. We want to be a safe place of guidance for witches new and old.

Students must be 12+ years of age and have parental permission. This academy operates under the jurisdiction of United States law, which states that in order for a child to be taught anything regarding the concept of religion they must have parental consent. By checking the box on the application which states that you qualify under both of those conditions, you are stating that you take full responsibility that these are true statements.

Qualifications: Prospective Mentors preferably have two or more years experience in their field of study, be 15 years of age or older, and must undergo training and pass with 80% or higher. Once a mentor has signed on with Acturian Academy, the contract being signed holds them to a standard of teaching which states that they must have a semester or more of their class ready before their class will be listed as available to take.
