Have you ever seen the skeleton of a stingray before? No? Well,now you have! ♡

This is the skeleton of a sixteen inch long yellow stingray,scientifically know as the Urobatis jamaicensis! It is found within the western tropical Atlantic Ocean ranging from North Carolina to Trinidad and many places inbetween! Mostly within the inshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico,there this creature is the only representative of its family. It usually grows no more than 28 inches long and 14 inches across when fully matured. The colors of these creatures can vary (They are able to adjust their coloring) but the most common colors are a dark green/brown color on a light background,or a dense white,yellow or golden spots on a dark green or brown background.
