A Fight Against the Odds: Supporting Djuna Through Breast Cancer
A few months ago, my friend Djuna ( @sigurism ) returned from a medical appointment with a diagnosis that changed everything: breast cancer.
Since then, her already fragile stability has turned into a constant struggle to keep her health, her treatment, and her life from collapsing at the same time. She is a mother who has spent years being strong for others, but this is a fight she cannot carry alone anymore.
Against the odds, Djuna managed to cover part of her treatment and undergo surgery that promised a step forward. Unfortunately, cancer rarely plays fair.
As Djuna explains in her own words:
" Post-operative results showed that the cancer had reached a lymph node. Something so small it didn’t appear on scans, yet serious enough that my doctors are now discussing radiation, chemotherapy, or additional surgery to prevent recurrence. "
This charity campaign aims to raise $1,200, which will help cover immediate medical and living expenses and reduce the risk of interruptions in her treatment. It is not the full amount she needs, but it is a critical and necessary step.
