unactive Hello and nice to meet you, I'm Marise! I love K project and SB69. I also reblog a lot of other animes and other random stuff. PLEASE DO NOT REPOST OR SHARE MY TRANSLATION OR OTHER STUFF TO ANY WEBSITE (TUMBLR, MYREADINGMANGA, FACEBOOK ETC.) WITHOUT PERMISSION! PLEASE ASK ME FIRST!
I’m so sorry, I’m super late with this report! But well, better late than never I guess?
The fourth K stage play, K Missing Kings was held 19th - 22nd in Kyoto and 26th - 29th in Tokyo. Me and my friend @tatsupyon were lucky to be able to go watch this play in Tokyo! Too bad we got tickets to only one show but we tried to enjoy it as much as possible!
Read the report under the cut!
I assume everyone knows the story, so I’ll focus more on other things and overall on the experience! There’s probably things I’ve forgotten and I might have gotten something wrong too, I’m sorry if there’s any mistakes! Also, before I start there’s something about Yukari’s role, some probably already know about, but is good to know. Yukari’s original actor, Sasaki Yoshihide, got injured during a show in Kyoto. He couldn’t do Yukari’s part anymore, which was of course very sad and disappointing, but everything turned out alright. Another actor played Yukari and Yoshihide voiced Yukari’s lines. Might sound kind of crazy but however, everything worked so well and even though most battle scenes have Yukari I have zero thing to complain about. Absolutely amazing work from both. And fortunately, the injury wasn’t apparently anything too serious.
We visited the venue, The Galaxy Theatre, a day before to check the place and buy some goods (on most days you can buy goods even if you don’t have a ticket). We weren’t sure where to go but before we even took out a map we saw someone with a Yata nui and were like, now we’ll definitely know where to go. In the end the theatre was actually easy to find!
We bought some goods but ended up deciding to go buy some more on the next day. We were lucky because on that day you were able to buy them only if you have a ticket. When we arrived the lobby was already full of K fans. A lot of people had itabags and quite many were trading some stage goods. It was amazing to be around so many people who are fans of the same series! The place looked pretty fancy, pretty fitting for the theatre’s name, and KMK OST was playing on the background all the time (even in the bathroom), the atmosphere was so exciting! This time the lining took a lot of time but finally we both had the all goods we wanted and were ready to step in to the theatre! (Effy posted pictures of the pamphlet if you’re interested!) You got an extra bromide of random character when handing out your ticket. I was lucky to get one of my favorite characters – Fushimi! (Seems like I forgot to include it in the photo though, oops)
At first, we were a little disappointed about our seats – we were on the loft. But turned out they were actually pretty good seats after all because the whole stage and all the effects could be seen so well, and we weren’t as far as I thought we’d be. Lining took so much time we didn’t really have any time after sitting down when Akiyama and Benzai already run to the stage to welcome us. They joked about this not being Idol K (referring to the Idol K part in LSW stage where they’re MCing) and reminded to not talk or use phone during the play. Then someone’s phone started ringing. It was Benzai’s and Akiyama judged him for that. They ended their talk with making the audience “draw swords” and say “Battou!” with them, it was fun!
The play stars with Anna introducing the story of K and the kings. They had even Hisui and Iwa, hidden in the shadows though. The first ~10-15 minutes was a summary of the first season. During this I realized how freaking amazing everything is: the fights, choreographies, the use of the super big screen, the lights… Especially the lights and other effects are definitely amazing than ever before. After the summary, an introduction video is shown on the screen and the actors come to the stage – Missing Kings has officially begun.
In the first scene Yukari arrives and fights some golden clan members. The bunnies’ outfits look awesome! After this Kuroh and Neko come, talking about how they’ve been looking for Shiro, and Kukuri joins them. In the café scene when they do their orders they’re surprised how fast their orders came, served by Camo as a waiter.
Kamamoto and Anna come to the stage and Kuroh wonders who Kamamoto is. He explains about his summer mode. Kamamoto’s winter version comes to the stage and they show a flashing arrow between them to show how winter!moto turns to summer!moto. The Kamamotos show thumbs up to each other and the audience laughed a lot. Back to normal, they wonder where Yata is.
Yata’s birthday scene! He was wearing the red outfit from KMK key visual which was nice (he later changed back to his normal outfit). This was probably one of my fav scenes, it was so cute and fun! Yata arrives and everyone is cheering on him and throwing him which makes him a little embarrassed but very happy. Anna, who has a cute little party hat, hands Yata his skateboard. He has to make the same trick he did before in the flashback with Totsuka. He’s extremely focused to do it, and Kusanagi says “Can you really do it?” to him in a teasing way, to which Yata yells him to shut up. He manages to do the trick, yay! Everyone cheers and they sing happy birthday for Yata, we were happy to be able to clap along. Totsuka, Kamamoto, Kusanagi and Anna wished happy birthday to him once more. Everyone turns to Mikoto, waiting for him to say the same but he answers just “…Yeah” and everyone falls and laughs. The funny and heartwarming scene ends with Yata sitting alone in the bar, watching a cute video shown on the screen and crying.
Everything continues following the movie story – Kuroh seeing Yukari for the first time and their fight etc. Douhan’s attacks and passing through walls was done in an amazingly creative way. Moveable walls were brought on the stage and a cg video of her “going through” it was reflected on the objects! It’s hard to explain but it worked so well! They used these walls also on other scenes to make the milieu more understandable, and basically look cool.
One thing that I’m not quite sure if it was supposed to be funny or not, but was funny at least for me, was when injured Kamamoto arrives to Homra he fell to the ground and lied there facing the floor for what felt like forever until Yata noticed him.
I was waiting for Munakata and Fushimi’s ninja scene. I’m happy it really was funny – they actually continue the “This ninja-” “This masked clansman” for a lot longer than in the movie and Fushimi coughs like three times to correct his boss. This happened in other scene but worth mentioning: once just before leaving the stage Munakata asks Fushimi how about doing puzzles with him, which Fushimi immediately refuses to. He tries again but can’t even finish his line before Fushimi’s “NO”.
Kuroh, Neko and Misaki meet at the Mishashira Tower. I was wondering how they’ll make the part where Yata sees the underwear commercial and falls and I think the stage version actually made more sense than the golden clan having a random picture of a half-naked woman in the tower (though, gotta admit that thought is pretty funny). Yata grabs a green clansman, accidentally opening her shirt. Having his face too close boobs he panics and the clansman calls him a pervert. So clichéd but whatever, it was funny!
Neko’s cat mountain attack was also awesome! A cg video of her sitting on the big cat chasing the green clansmen was shown on the screen! Again, so fun and smart use of the big screen! Kotosaka is also so silly. Sometimes he is just shown as a silhouette on the walls, sometimes a little bird moving his wings is seen peeking behind top of the prop walls. Yata and Kuroh’s scenes, like them running down the hall, are also really cool. And of course, Kuroh’s Ichigen-sama fangirling moment was gold – he made a really high-pitched “Kyaah!” sound after making Yata listen to his master’s words.
One of the coolest, and my favorite, scenes is Yukari and Kuroh’s fight on the rooftop. It’s honestly too amazing for words how well they made it understandable what’s going on, and how every jump and run and everything is clearly exactly the same as in the anime. They used again the screen to make an effect that looks like they’re running up and down the building or breaking the glass. Overall all the battles were super cool and choreographed so well, I can’t wait to see them again on the DVD.
Everyone arrives at where they keep the Slate and Anna. Anna’s dream is lovely, so beautiful. She wakes up in her dream world – which is a video. However, whole dream doesn’t happen on the screen and we see Totsuka and Mikoto walking to the stage too. It was really sweet and moving. But what I liked even more was Anna’s awakening as the red king. It was actually simply so cool and powerful I started tearing up just from pure amazement. And the song, the song does the trick if nothing else… The fire effect and her wings were the coolest. Everything from now on – the fights, Damocles Swords, the phoenix, Munakata’s defense… – took again advance of all the possible special effects. Even Yata getting his new weapon was so extra. Fushimi attacking Douhan was also very nice: an effect of his knives hitting the wall was reflected on the wall she was about to pass to make it look like she got stuck.
The play is coming to end. The blue clan greets the new red king and draw their swords. Munakata goes to Anna and they have the talk about Mikoto. Yata embarrassingly thanks Fushimi and he replies to him by snorting and leaving. On the last thing we see Shiro sitting on Kokujouji’s bed, who’s face is shown on the screen, and talking with him. The play ends epically to Shiro jumping off the airship.
Everyone runs in turns to the stage to bow and everyone claps like crazy the whole time. I find it so sweet how Yukari got the biggest applauses, both Yukaris really deserved that. Actually, both of them in their costumes were on the stage during the curtain call, Yoshihide having to use crutches to walk. Somehow so nice but heartbreaking at the same time… This wasn’t the last show so they didn’t talk much, Shiro thanked us and we gave the last big applauses.
The crack on Munakata’s sword is the very last thing of the whole play.
I’m so so happy I was able to experience this! I’ve been a fan of K for long but never in my life could I have imagined I’d actually do something as crazy as going to Japan just to see stage plays. But it was so worth it! Missing Kings might not be the most eventful part of K but I can’t repeat enough how cool it was. Obviously, everything looks better in real life but compared to the earlier plays, which are already cool as they are, they really went all out this time. The stages have always been something that make me love all the characters a lot, the actors are too good. What I’m a little sad about is that there isn’t a lot of funny and happy scenes in Missing Kings. Actually, it felt like at least half of the audience was crying all the time. I found a girl sitting close rather amusing and cute because she was clearly a big Mikoto fan – she kept crying so much on his scenes it was almost worrying. It was awesome how into this series everyone is! I hope if they’ll ever make more K stage plays, I’ll be able to go watch it again! Thank you K for this unforgettable event!
If you want to talk more about the stage, or K in general, feel free to request to follow me in twitter! Tumblr is okay too, i just use Twitter more!

Live Musical「SHOW BY ROCK!!」-深淵のCrossAmbivalence – Report
The third Show By Rock!! Musical was held 19th – 29th October in Tokyo, Shibuya. Me and my friend @tatsupyon were super happy to be able to go to watch this musical and let me tell you – it was probably the best experience I’ve ever had in my life. I love SB69 and all the bands are very important, it really was too awesome for words! Especially if you’ve ever wanted to know more about Rom and Shuuzo’s old band, Amatelast, you’ll love the musical!!
Also, I’m sorry for being so late with the report! I can’t believe it’s already been a month, time goes so fast!
So, I want to share everything I can about the musical also for those who couldn’t see the it in person! @sweetixi also saw the musical (we also met in Japan – thanks once again, I had so much fun!) and you might have read the report she wrote. However, I recommend reading my take on it too because, as she also mentioned, all days are different and many things change every time! I’ve tried to explain the story as well as I could and in addition also things like the band meetings, what weird adlibs they did every day and what kind of epic fails happened to happen exactly on a few days we were watching, and such. So, a lot of fun stuff! You should still read Tash’s version too, though!
I’m sorry if this report has mistakes – I’m sure I don’t remember everything (especially the order of different scenes, I think there are some I mixed up, I’m sorry!) and might have misunderstood some things because my Japanese isn’t so good I could understand everything. But I tried my best to write everything as well as I could understand and remember! Luckily, the plot was easy to grasp and it’s really interesting so, please enjoy!!
The report can be found HERE!
If you want to talk more about the musical, or SB69 in general, feel free to request to follow me in twitter! Tumblr is okay too, i just use twitter more!

A few days ago Rom and Shuuzo’s old band’s, Amatelast’s, song came out. I haven’t seen English translated lyrics of Cadenza yet so, here it is! I apologize if there’s any mistakes, please note if you see any!
Anyway, it’s quite a sad song… But I like how it shows more Shu’s feelings because we don’t know much about them. The lyrics make it sound like Cadenza might have been Amatelast’s last song…
I also want to note that “Shu” is written 愁 which means grieve and distress. Ah the angst…
The memories I held in my hand
Tightening in the rusted chest of mine
In the violently striking rain
I searched for the blurred words
There’s nothing in the way
When the memories I had with you float off from my chest and disappear
Along with the illusion of the memory too bright
The years are torn apart
TAKE ME AWAY
I told “good bye” to the illusion reflecting the lost
MY HEART the sworn promises of the future melted the eternal time and disappeared to the sky
